Calling All Timmins Businesses & Community Partners!

From February 8–15, Timmins will proudly welcome athletes, coaches, families, and fans from across the country for the Canadian U18 Curling Championship 🥌🇨🇦. We invite all local businesses who have road signs, electronic boards, marquees, or message signs to help us show some Timmins hospitality by adding a welcome message for our U18 curlers during championship week.
A simple message like:
“Welcome Canadian U18 Curlers to Timmins!”
goes a long way in making our visitors feel at home and showcasing our community pride. With nearly 175 athletes plus families and supporters in town, this is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the warmth and support of our city. Thank you for helping us roll out a true Timmins welcome, we can’t wait to show Canada what our community is all about! 💙

Today, we challenge you to take note of each and every time you turn on a tap and use even an ounce of clean water.

This is not a figurative challenge. It is literal. We will be posting our numbers at the end of the day and encourage you to do the same.

Count how many times you flush the toilet, use water to cook, make a drink, wash a dish, wipe a kitchen counter or table with a clean, wet dishcloth, brush your teeth, wash your hands, start a load of laundry, wash your floor, rinse a cup, clean a baby’s soother…

It’s unimaginable to lose this fundamental necessity. We stand with Kashechewan First Nation and every other community who has to fight for this basic human right.

We urge our elected officials to prioritize clean water repairs and infrastructure immediately.
