Black History Month is not just history, it’s living, breathing, and present.
At Creating Connection, we recognize that mental health does not exist in a vacuum. It lives inside systems, histories, relationships, and bodies.
Black communities have carried intergenerational trauma shaped by racism, colonization, displacement, and systemic harm. They have also carried extraordinary resilience, wisdom, creativity, and healing traditions.
This month, we honour:
🖤 Black clinicians, healers, scholars, and community leaders
🖤 The emotional labour and survival required to exist in systems not built for safety
🖤 The ongoing impact of racial trauma on mental health today
As a clinic, our commitment goes beyond a post or a month. It means:
🖤 Practicing culturally responsive, trauma-informed care
🖤Continuing to examine our own biases and systems
🖤 Making space for conversations about race, identity, and belonging
We honour Black history by listening, learning, and showing up today and every day.🖤
