It’s National Addictions Awareness Week!

This week we stand together to raise awareness of the impacts of addiction, extend support to those at risk, and foster safe spaces for recovery and healing.

Join us for an afternoon of learning and sharing on Tuesday, November 18th, at the Timmins Native Friendship Center, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

This Remembrance Day, let us reflect on the sacrifices made by those who served and continue to serve, ensuring peace and freedom for us all.

In observance of Remembrance Day, our office will be closed on Tuesday, November 11. We will reopen on November 12 at 8:30 AM.

🌱 Understanding FASD: Feeding Challenges & Eating Behaviors

Did you know that children and youth with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) often face unique feeding challenges? Research shows:

✅ Feeding dysfunction is common among children diagnosed with FASD
✅ Problems don’t fade after infancy
✅ Hypersensitivity to taste can lead to picky eating and limited diets

What can help?
✔ Establish structured mealtimes and predictable routines
✔ Offer balanced meals with low added sugars
✔ Avoid foods that are too spicy, sour, or bitter
