💭 “How do I know if social media is affecting my mental health (or my teen’s)?”
Social media may be affecting mental well-being if you notice📱:
1️⃣ Increased anxiety, irritability, or low mood after scrolling
2️⃣ Difficulty sleeping or constantly thinking about online content
3️⃣ Strong emotional reactions when screen time is limited
4️⃣ Withdrawal from offline activities or relationships
5️⃣ Feeling “out of control” despite wanting to use it less
You don’t need all of these signs for it to matter.
If social media consistently leaves you or your teen feeling worse — not better — it may be worth exploring support.
💭 “If I feel stuck because of social media, will therapy just tell me to quit?”
Not at all. Therapy focuses on your mental health — not deleting apps. For most people, the work is about:
🌟 building healthier boundaries (not total avoidance)
🌟 reducing anxiety and comparison
🌟 feeling more in control and intentional
⭐️ strengthening real-life connections
Social media is only one part of the picture. Therapy looks at the whole you. 🤍
🌿 If you’re feeling stuck, support is available — and change doesn’t have to be extreme to be meaningful.
