🌊 When Emotions Feel Like Too Much
Sometimes emotions come in waves: anxiety, sadness, anger, frustration.
They arrive quietly or all at once, and before we notice, our energy is drained from work, family, relationships, and even caring for ourselves.
In DBT, we don’t try to push emotions away.
Emotions are part of being human, just like waves that naturally rise and fall.

Instead of stopping the waves, we gently learn how to ride them.
With the right skills, it’s possible to:
• notice emotions with kindness
• soothe intense feelings
• respond with care rather than overwhelm
• stay connected to yourself, even during difficult moments

You are not broken for feeling deeply.
With support and practice, emotions can become something you move through, not something that controls you. 🤍

💭 “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” — Carl Rogers
If you’re feeling stuck in your emotions, your relationships, your work, or your sense of self, you’re not alone. Many people believe they must “fix” themselves before they deserve peace or progress.

But real change doesn’t begin with self-criticism.
It begins with self-acceptance.

Accepting yourself doesn’t mean giving up.
It means stopping the inner battle — so growth finally has space to happen.
🌱 When we acknowledge where we are without judgment,
🌱 when we allow ourselves to be human, imperfect, and learning,
🌱 change becomes possible — gently, sustainably, and honestly.

If you’ve been feeling stuck “somewhere” or “somehow,” maybe the next step isn’t pushing harder…

Maybe it’s offering yourself understanding first.
You are allowed to grow at your own pace. 🤍

💬 “It takes a village to raise a child.”
Parenting was never meant to be done alone — yet for many immigrant families in Toronto, it often feels that way.
No grandparents nearby.
No familiar community.
No built-in support system.
If you’re raising a child far from home, juggling cultural expectations, language barriers, and daily responsibilities, it’s okay to feel tired, overwhelmed, or unsure. 🤍 That doesn’t mean you’re failing — it means you’re human.
A village can look many ways:
🌱 trusted friends
🌱 supportive professionals
🌱 community spaces where you feel understood
🌱 a safe place to talk, learn, and grow together
You don’t have to carry everything on your own. Seeking support is not weakness — it’s care, for you and your child.
You are doing your best. And you deserve support too. 🧡
