We were honoured to welcome Ontario Deputy Premier and Minister of Health Sylvia Jones for a tour of UHN’s rTMS clinic.

TeamUHN psychiatrist Dr. Gerasimos Konstantinou, also cross-appointment with CAMH, demonstrated how Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation uses gentle magnetic pulses to treat certain mental health conditions, including hard‑to‑treat cases of depression. We’re excited to see this innovative therapy continue to grow and become accessible to more patients.

A heartfelt thank you to Minister Jones for visiting and for her support of this lifesaving treatment.

Step into Erlyn’s role as a wound care nurse at UHN's Toronto General Hospital.

Her day starts with her wound care team, planning care for patients who need specialized support. At the bedside, Erlyn shows us how she performs a debridement, a procedure that gives wounds a fresh start and sets the stage for healing.

Between dressings, teaching and mentoring, Erlyn sees resilience in every patient. It’s challenging work, but every healed wound reminds her why she chose this path: to make a difference, one patient at a time.

Surgery is evolving – and we’re at the forefront.

In a collaborative effort between UHN’s Sprott Department of Surgery and the Ajmera Transplant Centre, the use of surgical robots in living organ donation surgeries is setting a new standard for innovation and patient care in our operating rooms.

This cutting-edge technology improves patient outcomes and offers operational benefits, including greater precision, smaller incisions, and faster recovery. The integration of surgical robots reinforces our leadership and redefines what’s possible for patients and living donors.

Music is in the air at UHN's Toronto Rehab! 🎶

The TRI Hards, TeamUHN's own band of musicians, led a choir of patients, families and staff through a holiday sing-along. Our voices, along with guitars, ukuleles, glockenspiels and kazoos, brought joy, festive cheer, and a warm sense of healing through the halls.

Music programming and performances are happening across UHN to bring joy to those in our community who may be going through challenging times, and those who are spending the holidays with us. Learn more about the special guests and choirs visiting UHN during the holidays, and the volunteers that make this all possible:
