Spring is officially here โ€” but does your body know? ๐ŸŒธ

The transitions between seasons can be bumpy for our bodies. ๐Ÿค’
Some of us are still recovering from the flu or other viruses from weeks ago that we thought we had fully recovered from. Allergies start kicking up, bringing sinus congestion, itchy eyes, and even skin rashes. ๐Ÿ‘ƒ

In TCM, this isn't a coincidence.โฌ‡

Diseases from the fall and winter that weren't properly treated can resurface in the spring โ€” your body is finishing unfinished business.
When we don't fully clear a pathogen or support our defensive qi (aka our immune system) during the colder months, spring's rising Yang energy can push those lingering issues back to the surface. ๐Ÿ‘€

The good news? This is actually the perfect time to address the root cause and reset your body for the season ahead.

Acupuncture and herbal medicine can help clear that lingering congestion, calm inflammatory skin reactions, and strengthen your immune system so you stop feeling like you're one step behind. ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ‘‰ If you've been dragging through this seasonal shift, don't wait it out โ€” book a consultation with us at TLC Medicine and let's get you feeling like yourself again.

๐ŸŒฟ Long awaited spring is here, but now your eyes might be struggling.
๐Ÿ‘€ In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Liver and eyes are deeply connected.
When the Liver is stressed or inflamed, it shows up in your eyes โ€” especially in spring when its energy surges upward. โฌ†
Styes, pink eye, itchy or red eyes this time of year? This post is for you

Our tips ๐Ÿ’š

Drink chrysanthemum tea as it can help clear out excess heat from the liver. ๐ŸŒŠ

Keep your neck protected. In TCM, spring wind isn't just a weather condition; it's a force that can pe*****te the body and stir up internal inflammation. The back of the neck is considered the most vulnerable entry point so invest in a spring scarf. ๐Ÿƒ

Get to bed before 1 am. Sleep is always important, and when the liver is in distress sleeping early can make a difference. The liver does deep repair between 1 and 3 am. ๐Ÿ›

Avoid spicy or greasy foods and alcohol. These contribute to inflammation and can worsen the stress on your liver. ๐ŸŒถ

Save this for your spring wellness toolkit ๐ŸŒธ

Did you know that 30-50% of people with endometriosis experience infertility?
Let's look into how that happens and how TLC Medicine approaches healing.

Endometrial tissue growing outside the uterus can attach to fallopian tubes & ovaries, preventing eggs from reaching the uterus and disrupting hormonal signals.
Over time, this can cause scarring to reproductive organs.

The presence of endometriosis can change how your immune system and hormone systems function. This can mean changes to your cycle that make ovulation harder to predict, and increased difficulty when implanting.

And endometriosis can bring chronic inflammation and changes to the shape of the uterus that prevent implantation.

Many people are turning to the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as a less invasive option for managing their endometriosis.
Therapies like acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine help restore balance by regulating your hormone cycles, reducing pain and stopping inflammation, as well as enhancing fertility.

Best of all, TCM treatments can be used alongside conventional treatments. In fact, studies show that IVF has a greater chance at resulting in a full-term pregnancy when treatment is paired with acupuncture.

If you are facing challenges with managing endometriosis, and want an alternative or complement to pharmaceutical or surgical options, reach out for a consult with TLC Medicine today!

The lymphatic system is having a moment on social media, but in Traditional Chinese Medicine, we've been talking about this for thousands of years ๐Ÿ“š
We call it dampness and phlegm accumulation, and the symptoms?
Puffiness, bloating, brain fog, feeling heavy and slow... sound familiar?
The difference is we don't just drain it โ€” we find out why it's there. That's how you get lasting results. ๐ŸŒฟ

How can you tell what's endometriosis and what's normal? ๐Ÿค”

Overall you shouldn't be in immense pain every cycle, but that pain alone may not point to endo ...โฌ‡

Cramping in endometriosis can be debilitating. ๐Ÿ˜–
People often struggle to function in their daily lives because of that pain. And it doesn't just mean cramps, it's chronic pelvic pain, low back and leg pain, pain during in*******se or while going to the bathroom.

When differentiating endo from other period pain disorders, it's important to look at digestion.๐ŸŽ
Do you experience severe and painful bloating? Or move between constipation and diarrhea? Or do you find yourself nauseous and even vomiting?

Unfortunately, it doesn't stop there. Many people with endometriosis face migraines, chronic fatigue, fertility issues and frequent sleep problems. ๐Ÿ’ค

It can be hard to see these symptoms as part of one disorder. If your health care practitioner doesn't look at things holistically or dismisses your symptoms, you can end up with a diagnosis of IBS, PCOS, UTIs, hormonal problems, indigestion and more. ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ

โœจ But with a whole-person Traditional Chinese Medicine framework at TLC, we can see how these problems are all from the same root. Which means our treatments work to mitigate all your symptoms, instead of providing relief for one while worsening others. ๐Ÿงก

๐Ÿง  Its Brain Awareness Week!
Which means it's time to zoom in on brain health...and the topic is stress ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Stress can be good, if it motivates you and moves on quickly. ๐Ÿƒ
But long-term stress or stressors that leave you worn out harm your brain health.
Stress like that can cause inflammation in the brain, and diminish the function of attention, memory and mood centers. ๐Ÿ˜จ
This means greater risk for dementia, anxiety, depression, and more.

Hearing all that can just make you stress more... so we are here to offer help. ๐Ÿ’ซ

TLC Medicine brings acupuncture, herbal medicine and lifestyle recommendations through a holistic Traditional Chinese Medicine lens. ๐ŸŒฟ
We can change the way you and your nervous system interact with stress, protecting the brain early on. โ›‘

The tension and pain you've held for years melts away as acupuncture boosts flow, allowing energy to move properly. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Once that energy is moving acupuncture and herbal medicine bring balance to your nervous system. Meaning the parasympathetic can take over and bring in the "rest and digest" phase after stress hits, allowing healthy recovery. ๐Ÿ˜ด

TLC Medicine is here to support your brain health by supporting your overall health.
We don't leave any piece of your well-being behind. ๐Ÿง  ๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿซ
