Because land acknowledgements are not enough.
At the Toronto Centre for EFT, we believe in action. Healing and repair demand more than words—they require commitment, equity, and accountability.
That is why, each year, we donate a portion of our training fees to Indspire, a national Indigenous charity that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people. Education is not only a right; it is a pathway to equal opportunity, justice, and thriving communities.
Indspire’s guiding belief—Indigenous Education is Canada’s Future—resonates with our deepest values of growth, healing, and connection. Their impact is widely recognized:
Charity Intelligence Canada awarded Indspire a five-star rating and named it a Top 10 Canadian Impact Charity (2017–2024).
Maclean’s selected Indspire as a Top Rated Charity in 2019 and 2020.
We are proud to stand with Indspire and to contribute to the ongoing work of repair, justice, and hope.

The brain keeps us safe by staying on guard and that safety can also keep us stuck. Without a corrective emotional experience with a safe other, we stay in protection mode and can keep the world at arm's length. Healing begins when safety and connection are created, in relationship, teaching the brain it is okay to open again. Come learn more on October 27th-29th in Toronto at the EFIT Essentials with my colleague, Dr. Leanne Campbell and me, Robin Williams Blake as we share Sue Johnson's amazing EFIT model to help you work with your individual clients. www.tceft/all-new-events/

It was such a pleasure to join Dr. Belle (Anabelle Bugatti-Duarte, PhD, LMFT) on her show and spend time talking about something not only dear to my heart but essential for all clinicians to understand—the importance of uncovering and reshaping our clients’ View of Self. One might say this is at the very core of the Emotionally Focused Therapy process, especially when working in EFIT (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy).
In this episode, Dr. Belle and I dive into the powerful and essential topic of View of Self and View of Other in Emotionally Focused Therapy. We explore how the way clients see themselves—shaped by attachment injuries, emotional experiences, and relational patterns—impacts their emotional responses, connection struggles, and their path to healing.
In this episode, we cover:
What “View of Self” really means in the EFT model
How to identify and work with negative self-perceptions in session
Key interventions and markers for effective restructuring
Using the EFT Tango to access and shift internal self-view
How attachment and self-concept intertwine in therapy
This conversation is packed with clinical gems, theory-to-practice insights, and gentle reminders of the deep humanity behind our clients’ struggles.
Whether you’re just beginning your EFT journey or have years of experience, I hope this episode offers new clarity and inspiration for your work.
