As the candles burn brightly throughout this week, we wish you and your loved ones unity, purpose, and connection this holiday season.

Happy Kwanzaa to all who celebrate! 🕯️

As gifts are unwrapped and carols are sung, we wish you and your loved ones peace, joy, hope, and love this holiday season.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! 🎄

And speaking of carols, listen to our Gardens at Kensington Health community singing and clapping alongside harpist Dianne Parke Jones. 🎶

This holiday season, wrapped with care! 🎁

Last week, our Kensington Health elves made their way through the Gardens at Kensington Health to spread some holiday cheer! With carols sung by Piper Hayes and a cozy blanket gifted to each resident, the halls were filled with so much joy and warmth! 🎶

The smiles and laughter shared was the greatest gift of all, reminding us how lucky we are to get to make magical memories with residents, their loved ones and our Gardens community - not only during the holidays, but every day. ❤️

Tonight marks the first night of Chanukah, the Jewish Festival of Lights. Chanukah is celebrated over eight nights to commemorates the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, and is a moment to reflect on resilience, hope, and the power of light in times of darkness.

Happy Chanukah to all who celebrate! 🕎

After more than 30 years as an elementary school teacher, Tony was looking forward to retirement, where his days would be filled with golfing, curling, and gardening. But when his vision began to worsen due to cataracts, the activities he was excited for suddenly became challenging.

Tony turned to the Eye Institute at Kensington Health, having been impressed with their advanced testing and compassionate approach to care. Within days of surgery, he was back to seeing more clearly and enjoying retirement.

When you donate to the Kensington Health Foundation, you are helping people like Tony get back to what matters most.

When it comes to addressing complex care needs in aging populations, there’s a gap. It’s time to start closing that gap.

Andrea Thompson, Vice President, Community, Hospice, and Long-Term Care of Kensington Health, alongside Lucia Rocha, President of the Family Council at the Gardens at Kensington Health, recently sat down with the Ontario Long-Term Care Association (OLTCA) to chat about how long-term care homes, like the Gardens, are prioritizing person-centered care that takes into account not only their clinical care needs, but their cultural and social care needs too.

Kensington joined Canadians coast to coast in honouring National Day for Truth and Reconciliation today. Our teams, long-term care residents and loved ones had the privilege of hearing from Amber Skye, a Mohawk from Six Nations, Ogwehoweh health professional, and Associate Dean - Health Services at Six Nations Polytechnic. Amber’s reflections and insights on reconciliation in the healthcare sector reminded us that it is not just a word, but a journey that calls for humility, action, and a lasting commitment to change.

As we move forward, Kensington remains dedicated to continuous learning and meaningful dialogue with our community and taking concrete steps toward reconciliation. This is only the beginning of our work to support transformative action in the healthcare system for Indigenous health equity.
