ABA Scarborough looking for energetic, talented individuals to be part of our multidisciplinary team as an Instructor therapist to deliver one-to-one with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) under the supervision of BCBA at our centre-based location only.
Successful candidates should possess:
· A degree in psychology or related field or a diploma in a behavior science program (such as Behavioral Science Technology Diploma, Autism Behavioral Science Certificate, Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree).
· Excellent problem solving, communication, interpersonal skills, time management skills, organizational, and team player abilities.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· An ability to display a high level of initiative
· Recent Police Check / Vulnerable Sector Screening
· Valid First Aid & CPR certificate
· CPI certification is an asset
· ABA/IBI experience an asset
· Has the flexibility to work regular business hours, and Saturdays.
· Other languages would be an asset
· Currently Centre based - must adhere to COVID-19 protocols and practices.
Responsibilities:
· Work directly with clients both individually and in groups under the supervision of a Senior Therapist, BCBA.
· Delivering ABA services to our clients
· Preparation of teaching materials, implementing the programming, monitoring the client’s progress and the effectiveness of the individualized programs
· Implement behavior plans, behavior intervention plans and safety plans
· Delivering ongoing assessments and evidence based services directly to the child/ family/caregiver.
· Data collection
· Documenting progress through detailed notes. Recording and graphing programming data.
· An ability to collaborate with other team members in the implementation of the clients behavior plans and skill acquisition program, maintain regular communication with parents and other professionals as required and participate in scheduled team meetings and training as required.
· Reports to work on time to achieve maximum performance standards according to company guidelines.
