As the darkest day of the year approaches, this is your reminder to stay on top of your Vitamin D levels.

Vitamin D plays a key role in fertility, and levels can be easily measured with a blood test. Safe sun exposure, fatty fish, and supplements are all great ways to support healthy levels.

This post is for educational purposes only and is not medical advice. Speak with your doctor to see if you should have your Vitamin D levels tested or start supplementation.

The holidays can be complicated when you’re trying to build a family. If this season feels heavy, that makes sense. You’re allowed to protect your energy.

💛 Do a “Vibe Check” before heading to an event. Check in with yourself - if your “social battery” is at 10%, give yourself permission to stay home and order takeout instead.

💛 Establish a support signal with your partner so they know when you’ve reached your limit.

💛 Set a time window for scrolling or take a social media holiday.

💛 Hold space for whatever emotions show up.

💛 Focus on small, grounding moments that bring peace.

💛 Prepare short, polite answers to personal questions

💛 Book a “Reset Day” for after the holidays to prioritize your own recovery and self-care.

There’s no single “right” way to move through this season. Protecting your mental health is part of fertility care, not separate from it. Be gentle with yourself, lean on support where you can, and remember you don’t have to carry this alone.

Trying to conceive (TTC) often means making small, mindful adjustments. We all love to cozy up with a warm drink when it’s cold outside, but if you’re trying to conceive , it’s a good time to check your caffeine intake.

Remember, moderation is key!

If you have PCOS and skip periods, read this.

Going months without bleeding can mean the lining is getting ongoing estrogen exposure without regular progesterone.

Why it matters:
➡️ Without regular progesterone, the uterine lining can keep building instead of shedding.

➡️ This can lead to heavy bleeding, prolonged bleeding, or unpredictable spotting.

➡️ Over time, unopposed estrogen can lead to endometrial overgrowth (hyperplasia). Hyperplasia is important because it is treatable and preventable.

You might still bleed sometimes, but it can be irregular spotting or heavy bleeding, and it does not always mean the lining is “reset” in a healthy, predictable way.

What you can do (ways to bring on safe, regular bleeding or protect the lining):

➡️ If no bleed for 45 to 60 days, talk to your doctor.

➡️ Ask about: cyclic progesterone (withdrawal bleed), hormone IUD, or the birth control pill (if not TTC)

➡️ If TTC: ask about letrozole ovulation induction + monitoring

➡️ Ask if metformin is right for you (especially with insulin resistance)

➡️ Heavy bleeding? Check iron and ferritin

Bottom line: Skipped periods are common in PCOS, but they need a plan. Remember, this is for education only and is not medical advice.

Adenomyosis happens when tissue similar to the uterine lining grows into the uterine muscle. It can cause heavy bleeding, painful cramps, pelvic pressure, and sometimes it is linked with fertility challenges or miscarriage risk.

Not all Adenomyosis is equal, and treatment depends on your goals, symptoms, and imaging.
