😌Relax your body before getting into the cold rather than going in and trying to relax it.
🌞Keep feeling into the heat in your body rather than getting lost in how cold the water is.
🌊Avoid fixating on time spent in the cold plunge and instead aim to expand on each round by spending more calm and deep breaths in it.

Great health is its own reward. In the conversation surrounding wellness and fitness, we as an overly serious society overstate the discipline and hard work required, the duress and even the pain of making better choices, as well as the resilience required to get out of your comfort zone. These are all without a doubt necessary parts of developing your health and fitness, but overstating them makes the process unnecessarily heavy! As a whole, we understate the role of how good it simply feels to live from a high degree of fitness and well being. I urge you to shift your focus. Focus on how freeing it is to be able to approach any life or sports activity without the fear of exhaustion, soreness, or injury. Focus on how great it is to take the stairs when the elevator has a wait and not arrive out of breath. Focus on how you can have the energy and mobility to play with your nieces, nephews, kids or grandkids close to the ground without having to take a nap right after! Focus on how much you enjoy your food and how seamlessly it digests when you have built an appetite through healthy movement. Focus on how great it feels to break out in a purifying sweat on the regular. Focus on how strong and independent you feel when opening, lifting or carrying that heavy thing without help. In short, don't allow what is required of you to eclipse the enjoyment of what you are stepping into! Do you struggle with getting into or staying 'in shape' (whatever that means to you)?
