Acute Pancreatitis
Severe epigastric abdominal pain (often radiates to the back)
Nausea & vomiting
Abdominal tenderness, guarding
Fever
Tachycardia
Hypotension (fluid shifts)
Decreased bowel sounds / ileus
Jaundice (if biliary cause)
Pain worse after eating, especially fatty foods
Relief when leaning forward or sitting upright
Severe / classic signs (less common):
Cullen sign β bluish discoloration around the umbilicus
Grey-Turner sign β bruising on the flanks
β»οΈ Chronic Pancreatitis
Recurrent or persistent abdominal pain
Weight loss
Steatorrhea (fatty, foul-smelling stools)
Malabsorption
Diabetes mellitus (loss of insulin production)
Poor appetite
