The Women and HIV Research Program stands with our Indigenous colleagues, friends, families, and the diverse Indigenous peoples of this land. We continue to learn about and reflect on colonization, and the injustices and ongoing harms that have come, and continue to occur as a result. We also continue to take action by supporting the 94 TRC Calls to Action and working with our Indigenous colleagues on matters that are meaningful to them.

On September 30, we will be unavailable. We will use this time to participate in Indigenous-led and sanctioned events, as well as to continue offline reflection and action items to support Indigenous women living with and affected by HIV.

We invite you to learn more about events near you, and to join us in doing the work.

The mourns the loss of and stands with the many Indigenous peoples and families across this land in remembering the 215 children of the Kamloops Indian Residential School. We are committed to the 94 TRC Calls to Action and urge Canada to continue with these Calls to Action for the necessary Truth and Reconciliation.
