Our team recently participated in a Teamwork & Communication training courtesy of . The session emphasized understanding different communication styles and fostering stronger teamwork to ensure we continue delivering the highest standard of care to our patients. It was both insightful and engaging as we gained valuable tools to strengthen collaboration while keeping the experience lighthearted and fun.

A sincere thank-you to our trainer, David Stone, for leading such an impactful session, and to for your continued dedication to independent optometry.

October is also Children’s Vision Health Month in Canada. National data shows that 1 in 4 school-aged children have a vision problem that could affect their ability to read, learn, and play. Many of these issues go unnoticed because children often don’t realize their vision is impaired. Left undetected, vision problems can impact a child’s academic achievement, social confidence, and long-term eye health.

In Ontario, children and youth aged 0–19 are eligible for one OHIP-insured eye exam every 12 months, plus any necessary follow-up care.

Back-to-School Ready? Don’t forget your child’s eye exam!

Why it matters:
• Up to 80% of classroom learning is visual but many vision issues go unnoticed.

• 1 in 4 school-age kids may have an undiagnosed vision problem.

Good vision supports reading, learning, and confidence in the classroom. In Ontario, annual eye exams for children and teens are covered by OHIP. Book an appointment today and give them the clear start they deserve.
