Welcome aboard Dr. Clifton Cheng!

Dr. Cheng obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo with Dean’s Honours. At the University of Waterloo, he completed an advanced rotation in the Ocular Disease and Imaging Clinic, where he routinely managed conditions such as dry eye, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, along with ocular emergencies.

During his training, he completed his ocular disease externship with optometrists and ophthalmologists in Newmarket, Ontario, where he gained further experience managing ocular disease and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. He also gained experience working with paediatric patients, managing binocular vision abnormalities, and in myopia control while at his primary care externship in Markham, Ontario.

Dr. Cheng enjoys providing optometric services for patients of all ages in either English or Cantonese, and has a special interest in dry eye management, myopia control and contact lenses. In his spare time, Dr. Cheng enjoys watching sports, cooking and biking.

Yorkdale Optometry is expanding! Welcome aboard Dr. Kim Le!
A little bit about Dr. Le, who quickly began her journey into Optometry even before completing her undergraduate degree and was able to receive her Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Waterloo alongside her Doctorate of Optometry as a part of the class of 2023. She is currently a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, Ontario Association of Optometrists, and the College of Optometrists of Ontario.

She completed her clinical rotations in Toronto, Ontario at sites focused on Dry Eye Management, Myopia Control, and Low Vision while expanding her knowledge on primary care with a high volume of glaucoma patients, and contact lenses. With a particular passion for myopia control and dry eye, she spends a great deal of her time keeping up with the latest studies for new approaches of management. Dr. Le is committed to providing outstanding patient-centred care for all and focuses on educating patients thoroughly so they can get involved and make the most well-informed decision. She believes each person deserves the best care customized for their own unique needs.

Outside of Optometry, Dr. Le enjoys travelling, video games, photography and karaoke. She is fluent in English, Vietnamese, and Korean.

A warm welcome to Dr. Stephanie Wong!

Providing a friendly and professional eye care experience has always been the top priority for Dr. Stephanie Wong. Patients have enjoyed working with Dr. Wong as she spends quality time with patient education on their diagnoses, management, and involving patients with providing options of treatment plans along with advice for dispensing needs for glasses and contact lenses. Dr. Wong performs routine eye examinations, contact lens fittings, diagnoses and treats eye conditions including dry eyes, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration and is TPA certified to prescribe medications for ocular conditions. Dr. Wong is licensed by the Ontario College of Optometrists and General Optical Council to practice in Canada and the UK and is a proud member of the following professional associations:
 Canadian Association of Optometrists
 Ontario Association of Optometrists
 College of Optometrists UK (MCOptom)
Dr. Wong was born and raised in Toronto and received her Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto in Biology and Psychology. She wanted to explore and travel thus has decided to receive her Optometry training at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, UK. After practicing primary eye care in the UK for a few years, Dr. Wong wanted to be closer to her family and pursued further training from New England College of Optometry (NECO) in Boston. Her training at NECO provided her greater exposure for seeing a diversity of patients with ocular diseases and specialty contact lens fittings in clinical settings such as community eye centers, Veteran Affairs Medical Center, and private practices. Upon returning to Toronto, Dr. Wong takes pride in joining the team at Yorkdale Optometry to provide exceptional eye care experiences for patients. Dr. Wong is fluent in both English and Cantonese.
Outside of Optometry, Dr. Wong has a passion for volleyball, practicing yoga regularly, and exploring countries to experience different foods and cultures.

Digital Eye Strain includes: symptoms of headaches, eye strain, blurred vision, eye irritation, double vision, excessive tearing or dry eyes and excessive blinking or squinting are all common effects of Digital Eye Strain. Time to book an eye exam appointment for a comprehensive eye health examination to rule out a more serious vision problem.

Research is showing a rise in the detection of visual problems because of the number of hours spent in front of a screen.

Responsibilities include but not limited to, answering and scheduling appointments, pre-testing, contact lens teach, general office administrative duties. Previous experience in optical and health industry is an asset but not necessary, training provided for ideal candidate.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
⦁ Provide excellent customer service and patient care
⦁ General office duties; scanning files, scheduling specialist appointments
⦁ Answering phones and booking appointments
⦁ Pre-testing, contact lens teach, and measurement of glasses
⦁ Process payments and end of day duties

Required skills:
⦁ Friendly and outgoing personality
⦁ Ability to multi-task, quick learner, and works well in a team environment
⦁ Excellent verbal and communication skills
⦁ Strong work ethics; punctual and reliable
⦁ Possess mature and professional attitude and excellent telephone manner
