Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all and that’s actually great news 🤍
If therapy didn’t work for you before, that doesn’t mean YOU failed or that therapy doesn’t work. It might just mean you haven’t found the right approach or therapist yet.
There are so many types:
• CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) - changes thought patterns
• DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) - teaches emotional regulation skills
• EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) - processes trauma
• Somatic therapy - works through the body
• ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) - builds psychological flexibility
• Psychodynamic therapy - explores unconscious patterns
Plus, personalities matter. Some therapists are gentle, some are direct, some give homework, some focus on insight.
You’re allowed to say ‘this isn’t working’ and try something else. That’s not quitting that’s knowing yourself 💚
