🏌️‍♂️ Swing Into Spring: Elevate Your Game at Physio Theory!

The sun is finally out in Burnaby, and you know what that means—golf season is officially here! ☀️⛳️ As the weather warms up and the fairways beckon, don’t let nagging aches or a “rusty” swing keep you in the clubhouse.

As a TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Certified Physiotherapist, Brian specializes in the body-swing connection. Meet the Real Bosses of Physio Theory! 🐾

While Brian handles the rehab, these two are the real stars of the show. We are officially a dog-friendly clinic, and we couldn’t imagine our new space without our furry teammates.

Meet the Crew:
• Arya (The Aussie-Beagle): Our official “Guard Dog.” She takes her job very seriously, keeping a watchful eye on the clinic and making sure everything is running smoothly. 🛡️🐕
• TJ (The Beagle-Shih Tzu-Yorkie Mix): Known as “The Friendly One.” You’ll find TJ here most days, ready to greet you with a wagging tail the second you walk through the door.
A little heads-up: TJ loves people so much that she’s been known to try and “assist” with treatments by laying with patients. If you don’t mind a little extra comfort during your session, she’s more than happy to snuggle up! 🛋️✨

We love meeting your four-legged friends, too! Feel free to bring your well-behaved pups along to your next appointment.

𝐍𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞. ⁣

𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨: You’ve been consistent with your clamshells, core activation, bridges, hip hinges and pain goes away! You slowly fall off your rehab plan and start your pre-injury exercises/activities. Few weeks later you’re back in the clinic because you re-aggravated your injuries. ⁣

Isolated/Selective muscle recruitment (core activation, clamshells, etc) sets the foundation to more FUN-ctional and sports specific exercises. So don’t forget to include agility, coordination, proprioception and/or plyometrics into your rehab plan. ⁣

, be consistent and adhere to your rehab plan to prevent any set backs. There are no magic pills or shortcuts in rehab 💪

𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘!⁣!

Physiotherapists received the green light to start In-Patient Physio for gradual and careful return to all services.

My physiotherapy assistant 🐶 and I have been keeping up with our skills in preparation for this news!!

Number 1️⃣ priority is always the safety for our clients, community and the team members, while providing highest quality care. There will be several precautions and protocols in place to help keep everyone safe. New protocols will include thorough screening, staggering appointments to minimize traffic in the clinic, PPE and much more to comply with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and the Ministry of Health’s guidelines⁣.

That being said, I will be continuing virtual care sessions as well!

T.J. and I have missed our clients and are looking forward to seeing you soon!
