IAM community member Laur is running 21.1 km – but it’s about more than crossing the finish line.

For Laur, running the Toronto Waterfront Half Marathon is about showing up for herself while
carrying the voices and stories of those impacted by mental health challenges.

“By taking on this half marathon, I want to challenge myself physically while helping to spark change and raise awareness for a cause that impacts so many lives.”

Laur is one of many inspiring runners supporting IAM’s mental health programs and support services.

🧠 This week is Mental Illness Awareness Week.

At IAM, we believe in navigating complex mental health together. Since 1979, we have been supporting caregivers and individuals affected by complex mental health issues as they navigate mental health care in Canada through one-on-one expert guidance and education.

Let’s use this week to raise awareness and highlight how we’re here to support those affected by mental illness. Learn more about how IAM is here to support people living with complex mental health issues and their caregivers by visiting https://iamentalhealth.ca/.
