When I told people I was traveling to Syria, many were afraid for me.
What I wasn’t prepared for was how deeply at home I would feel once I arrived.
Molham has been rebuilding lives in ways that are both practical and deeply human. Walking through Molham Village, especially the housing for widows, showed me how powerful community support can be when resources meet compassion.
You can see the real difference Molham is making in the human ways they are rebuilding lives. A visit to Molham Village, particularly the housing dedicated to widows, powerfully illustrates the strength of community support when paired with necessary resources and genuine compassion.
One woman shared a story I still think about. Her husband was killed almost ten years ago. At the time, her youngest child was not even one year old. They lived in a canvas tent through cold winters and hot summers. Five years ago she was accepted into Molham Village and finally had a stable home. Her eldest daughter is now finishing high school and dreams of university.
She told me that even after her living situation improved, the memories of loss stayed heavy. Stress, fear, and the pressure of raising children alone became constant companions. Through Savyn’s program, she said she finally feels moments when her body becomes calm again. She feels more able to support her children. She feels more hopeful. Hearing her say that reminded me why this work matters.
Our digital mental health program is not only reducing symptoms. It is helping mothers breathe a little bit easier again. It is giving children the chance to grow up with a parent who feels more present. It is creating hope for the future.
The need is still enormous. Thousands of widows, orphans, and displaced families have no mental health support at all. If you know someone who could benefit from free, trauma informed care, invite them to join Savyn. The link is in our bio.
