Chrisoula followed her beloved, lifelong, best friend and sister, Maria Dassios to Canada in 1960 but returned to Greece to marry Kostandinos Haralampidis in 1962 (predeceased, 2015).

Her four children: Tom, Bessie, Aspasia and Katy, along with their spouses: Niky, John, George and Christopher and her grandchildren: Speros, Christina, Costa, Eleni, Pericles and Odysseus will miss her presence everyday. She is also loved and remembered by her cherished sister, and her adored nephews and nieces.

03/13/2026

TSIANOS, Alexandra "Aleka",

Aleka was a beloved mother to Terry and Olga, a devoted grandmother to Alexandra (Lex) and Amanda, and a great-grandmother to Kalisto. She was also cherished by the dog she “never” wanted, Tucker, also known as “koulouri mou.” Aleka was a caring sister to her five siblings - Dafnoula, Mihali, Andrea, Voula, and Fotini. Although many miles separated them, her siblings, parents, nieces, nephews, and cousins remained a central part of her life. They were a close-knit family, and she loved them deeply.

Aleka embodied courage and resilience, qualities she demonstrated in many ways. One of her earliest acts of bravery was becoming the first in her family to leave her homeland, Greece, and immigrate to Canada in pursuit of opportunity and new adventures. It was here she met her then husband, Costa with whom she shared their children and years of joy and prosperity. She carried with her hope and determination, laying the groundwork for brighter possibilities for herself and for her family, both by blood and by choice. Aleka was a strong-willed woman who was ahead of her time in her independence and autonomy, forging her own path in life with love, care and resolve.

She dedicated decades of her life caring for her community at the Hellenic Home, touching countless lives along the way. Whether someone needed a ride to the supermarket or a doctor’s appointment, a morning wellness check, help with daily meals, or assistance with any task, Aleka was always there. Her love language was, in fact, acts of service.

In her final years, Aleka faced progressive dementia. She resided in a nursing home supported by wonderful caregivers who showed the same commitment to care that she had given throughout her life, alongside the continued support of her children and family, who surrounded her with patience and tenderness.

Music and dance were her refuge. Whenever Greek music filled the room, she danced with her whole heart, embodying a freedom of movement many aspire to attain. Even as her sight faded and her body weakened, she would dance in her chair, reminding us of the joy she found in rhythm, lyrics, and memories of shared experiences. She could find a moment in any part of the day to “glenti”. Though her path with dementia required many hands and hearts to support her, her courage and wonderfully twisted sense of humour remained central to who she was.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at Nesbitt Lodge; we could not have cared for our mother without you. Her memory lives on in the music she loved, the dances she shared, and the countless acts of love that carried her through her life.

We will miss you.

VALMAS Dimitra,

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Dimitra Valmas (Chreppas). Born on December 10, 1949, Dimitra was the third child of George and Konstantina. Raised in Kamari, Messinia, Greece alongside her siblings Georgia (John), Giannoula (Demetre), Thanassy (Gina), Foti, and Grigori (Maria), she carried the warmth of her village and her family with her throughout her life. In 1970, she began a new chapter in Canada, where she soon met the love of her life, Dimitri. Together they raised their three children, Kosta, Martha (Theo), and Mary (Eddy).
Dimitra will be remembered for her vibrant, fiery personality, and the joy she brought into every room. She had a remarkable gift for making people laugh and an even greater gift for making them feel like family. Like her mother before her, she expressed love through food, always insisting that no one leave her home hungry, and often sending them off with more. Her circle of loved ones was wide, and each person felt special in her presence.
Above all, Dimitra’s greatest joy was her family, including her children, her niece Tina, and especially her grandchildren. Julia, Silvio, Constantine, and Elena were the light of her life, and she would do anything for them. Her heart grew even fuller with the arrival of her greatgranddaughter, Lenna Dimitra, whom she loved dearly.
Those fortunate enough to know Dimitra knew her kindness, her generosity, and her pathos for life. She gave freely, loved deeply, and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will be deeply missed.

PETROPOULOS Athanasios “Tommy”

In Loving Memory of Athanasios “Tommy” Petropoulos
January 2, 1940 – February 28, 2026
With profound love and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Athanasios “Tommy” Petropoulos, who peacefully embraced the light, surrounded by love and comfort.
Born on January 2, 1940, in Halkia, Messinias, Greece, Tommy was the son of Andriana and Dimitrios Petropoulos and the youngest of his siblings, Theone (Gus), Panayiota (Theochari), Caliroy (Dean), Sotirios (Maria), and Georgios (Fani), all of whom predeceased him, with the exception of Fani. Raised in a small village where faith, honour, and family were sacred pillars, Tommy carried those values faithfully throughout his life.
In 1957, at the age of seventeen, he set out to begin a new life in Canada. Together with his brothers, Tommy proudly owned and operated Harry’s Charcoal Broil Restaurant, a local establishment in Parkdale. With quiet resolve and a tireless work ethic, he embraced the unknown, holding fast to perseverance and purpose.
In 1963, he returned to Greece to marry his beloved Nikoletta, who, like Tommy, was born in the same cherished “Χωριο”. Together they returned to Canada and began their life side by side, working shoulder to shoulder, he as a cook and she as a waitress, creating not only a livelihood but a shared purpose rooted in service, hospitality, and pride. Their marriage spanned 62 years, sustained by devotion, laughter, and enduring respect. It was a partnership rich in faith, generosity, and an unspoken understanding .
Family was the heartbeat of Tommy’s world. He was a devoted father to his daughter Andriana, whose strength and grace brought him immense pride. He welcomed Tom not simply as a son-in-law, but as a true son, offering loyalty, guidance, and an unyielding sense of care.
His grandchildren, Thanos (Rachel), Niko (Kasandra), Andreas (Beth), and Aristeya were among his greatest joys. He followed their lives closely, celebrated their milestones, and shared with them the same humour, steadiness, and quiet love that defined him. In his later years, Tommy delighted in his great-granddaughter Athena.
Tommy embodied a rare balance of strength and gentleness. Known for his sharp wit and spirited sarcasm, he could fill a room with laughter, yet beneath the humour lay a quiet wisdom, deep compassion, and an unspoken loyalty that defined his every relationship. He listened intently, spoke honestly, and stood firmly by his principles.
He loved a good debate, a meaningful conversation, and the shared energy of company well chosen. His presence carried both calm and gravity, his humour lightened hearts, and his convictions inspired those around him. His legacy lives in every story told, every lesson remembered, and every act of generosity extended in his name.
Tommy will be remembered for his resilience, integrity, warmth, and unwavering devotion to family. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, each touched by his kindness and the quiet example he set.
As he often said, “someone has to win and someone has to lose.” Today we feel the weight of loss, yet we are forever the winners for having been part of his life.
May his memory be eternal.

02/24/2026

MYRTOS Constantinos,

Imagine the most gentle, peaceful place filled with light and love — that is where my Constantinos is now, resting in the embrace of heaven and held in God’s eternal arms.

With a heart both broken and full of love, I share the passing of my beloved husband, Constantinos Myrtos. He was my partner, my strength, and my greatest earthly blessing. Together we built a life rooted in faith and love, and in that life he was the most devoted father to our beautiful daughters, Evangeline and Olivia. They were his joy, his pride, and the light that guided his every step.

Constantinos was the cherished son of Olga and Demos Myrtos, and a loving, loyal brother to George (Gina) and Chris (Joanna). He was also a devoted son-in-law to Thanasis and Dina Margaritis, and a beloved brother-in-law to Andy (Laura) and Mary (Jim). He carried his family deeply within his heart and gave that same love freely to all who surrounded him. As a proud and adoring Godfather to Noah, Marcus, Nicholas, Themis and Malena, he embraced each of them with tenderness and guidance. To his endless nieces and nephews, he was the uncle who became a best friend and the steady soul everyone could lean on.

He lived life fully, with gratitude and wonder. Some of our most treasured memories were the simplest — travelling together as a family, standing side by side at track meets, or cheering from the sidelines of a soccer field as our girls ran with determination and joy. In those moments, I saw the truest reflection of his heart: present, proud, and overflowing with love.

Constantinos was an athlete in spirit, carrying passion and discipline into every part of his life. But his calling — the place where his hands and heart worked as one — was in healing others. As a Chiropractor for more than 20 years, he served people with compassion and purpose, always wanting to ease pain and restore hope. It was never just a profession to him; it was a ministry of care.

He also loved teaching at the Chiropractic College, guiding young students with patience and humility. He believed deeply in sharing knowledge, in lifting others up, and in planting seeds that would grow long after him. I often felt that teaching kept his spirit youthful — he was always learning, always growing, always becoming.

My Constantinos had a way of leaving an imprint on every soul he met. There was warmth in his presence, sincerity in his words, and quiet strength in his love. He lived with an open heart, and because of that, he will be remembered not only for what he did, but for how he made people feel.

Now, though my heart aches in ways words cannot hold, I lean into faith. In the stillness of prayer, I find comfort in believing he has been received into the light of Christ — where there is no pain, no sorrow, and no suffering, but life everlasting. I imagine him at peace, whole again, wrapped in the mercy and the love of God.

The love we shared does not end with this farewell. It lives in our daughters, in every memory, in every quiet moment where I still feel him beside me. Until we meet again in God’s eternal kingdom, I will carry him within me — in love, in faith, and in the sacred promise of reunion.

May his memory be eternal.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Metamorphosis Tou Sotiros Greek Orthodox Church,
40 Donlands Avenue, Toronto, Ontario.
Visitation will take place from
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.,
followed by the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in honour of Constantinos to the “Elevator Project” at Metamorphosis Church. Over the past 15 months, it became deeply meaningful to ensure that all individuals are able to worship without physical barriers. This initiative reflects that vision by supporting accessibility within our church community. E-transfers may be sent to metamorphosisgoc@gmail.com, and a donation receipt will be provided.

As Constantinos would always say, “Let’s go big.”
And so we will — in love, in faith, and in honour of him.
