That’s a wrap on 2025 💛

This year, we supported 1,868 clients, delivered 19,117 individual sessions and 2,000+ group sessions, welcomed 26 new team members (including 4 new doctors), endorsed 70 grad school applications, delivered 20+ neurodiversity-affirming presentations, built one new software platform, and took a meaningful step forward by pitching an autistic girls school.

Behind every number is a person, a family, a conversation, a breakthrough, a cup of hot chocolate, and a whole lot of care. We are endlessly grateful to our incredible Flourish team, your expertise, compassion, and commitment are what make this work possible, and to our wider community for trusting us, growing with us, and helping shape what Flourish continues to become.

There is no single “cause” or “cure” for autism.

Autism is a natural and lifelong part of human diversity. It is not something to be prevented or erased, it is something to be understood and embraced.

Recent headlines about acetaminophen and so-called “treatments” for autism have created fear and confusion.

The truth is, research is still inconclusive, and sweeping claims can spread stigma and misunderstanding.

Our position is clear:
Autistic people do not need to be “fixed.”
What autistic people and families need is understanding, acceptance, and meaningful support.
The voices of autistic people themselves must remain central in every conversation.

At Flourish, we are committed to providing neurodiversity-affirming care. We believe autistic people are whole, valuable, and deserving of respect always.

July is Disability Pride Month

At Flourish, we honour and celebrate the identities, culture, and contributions of disabled people, including those who are neurodivergent, chronically ill, sensory-sensitive, or invisibly disabled.

Disability Pride Month reminds us that disability is not a deficit, it’s a natural and valuable part of human diversity. It’s a community, a culture, and a source of strength. This month, and every month, we commit to listening to disabled voices, challenging ableism, and building spaces that are inclusive, and affirming.

The Disability Pride Flag reminds us of the richness of this community, with each colour representing a different type of disability. From visible to invisible, physical to psychiatric, neurodivergent to sensory, every experience matters.

Marie Hooper, Ph.D. (She/Her) is the founder and director of Flourish Health Services, a neuroaffirming clinician, educator, and advocate specializing in autism in girls, women, and 2SLGBTQIA+ youth. A late-diagnosed ADHDer and parent to a neurodivergent child, Marie integrates evidence-based, strengths-focused, neuroaffirming, and gender-affirming approaches into her work.

A recognized Subject Matter Expert for Autism Ontario, she co-founded Club Au-Some, a neuroaffirming space for autistic girls and 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, and is leading efforts to open North America’s first school exclusively for autistic girls. She also teaches at York University’s Glendon Campus, training future clinicians in inclusive, neuroaffirming care.

Marie is a dedicated advocate for flexischooling and PDA support, working to create more inclusive, supportive environments for neurodivergent individuals and their families.

💡 Whether you are a clinician, educator, researcher, or parent, this session offers invaluable insights into fostering more inclusive, affirming, and supportive environments for autistic girls and youth.

At Flourish Health Services, we believe in the power of shared knowledge and collaboration to drive meaningful change. The Flourish Clinical Exchange brings together clinicians, researchers, and advocates to discuss innovative, evidence-based, and neuroaffirming approaches in the field of developmental psychology and autism care.
