Aphasia Institute

Aphasia Institute Aphasia (uh-fay'-zhuh) is an acquired communication disorder caused by an injury to the brain.

The Aphasia Institute is a community-based centre of excellence, pioneering programs and practices that help the 100,000 Canadians with aphasia learn how to communicate in new ways so they can re-join life’s conversations. Through direct service, research, and education and training, Aphasia Institute has built a reputation as a world leader in aphasia care.

Fun morning at CBC’s Make The Season Kind
Campaign, brining communities together help fight hunger and food insecurity.

We snapped pics with CBC hosts, sat in for a recording of That’s Puzzling and hung out with friends having great conversations.

Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

At the Aphasia Institute, we honour this day by reaffirming our commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and communication support for people living with aphasia.

Aphasia is a communication disability but it does not change who a person is.
Everyone deserves to be heard, understood, and included.

Together, we help move people from isolation to community.
