So here is the obligatory 2020 sucked post. We’ll sort of.
Yes, 2020 was the worst. We were thrown into a situation we weren’t prepared for. Personally our business went to zero and then through technology we were able to bring back classes and support birthing parents virtually. We shifted, we changed, we adapted, yes we pivoted (we need to retire that word).
So I’m extremely thankful for St Michaels hospital moving toward online classes! I’m thankful for technology so I can still connect with families before, during and after their birth to help them manage becoming a parent in an unprecedented time.
And I’m thankful for the families that I was able to help and support in 2020.
Finally I’m thankful for my family who are rolling with all this and for my own perseverance do keep up a positive outlook despite so much being thrown at me.
2021 is going to have some very big events happening that I’m working on now but we are still committed to offering excellent support virtually until we can see you in person again.
Happy New Year everyone and best wishes for a peaceful 2021.

Such a great discussion, especially now with Covid regulations in place. Every year I get excited to binge watch shows while my kids are with their dad. This year my binge will be the new season of The Crown but I also have staples that I watch each year and I’m so happy the pandemic has taken that away from me.
I’m so eager for new episodes of Doctor Who and Call The Midwife.
What about you? What do you watch seasonally?

This year has brought us all so many challenges, including finding a way to offer quality prenatal education while we all stay safe. After some pivoting and technical rejigging and a few butterflies and bumps we managed to put together a real time virtual class as well as a prerecorded class. And I think it all went well.
2021 is showing to still be one of social distancing and staying safe so we will continue to offer virtual classes and doula support to help you stay safe as well as supported and informed!

As you approach the end of your pregnancy you may start to wonder if labour will ever start.
You may have had a feeling early on that you would go into labour early, a doctor may have even alluded to that.
The as week 39 goes by and week 40 approaches you get more and more convinced you will need an induction.
Unfortunately all this anxiety and over thinking about your labour starting, may be the thing that is stopping it from starting.
Take these final weeks to prepare for the birth and the postpartum period. Make food for after baby comes, go for walks, enjoy the time with your partner, very soon it won’t be the two of you any more. Practice some mediation and relaxation.
And have some patience.
Talk to us about how a Digital Doula©️ can help you prepare and manage your birth and the postpartum period.
