🎉 What a night at our Holiday Banquet 2025! 🎉

Friday evening, our community came together for an unforgettable evening of joy, connection, and festive spirit at our annual Holiday Banquet. A massive thank you to everyone who joined us at the Clubhouse, including Dr. Bhatia, Primary and Community-Based Care Executive Vice-President at Ontario Health, who shared insightful remarks to kick off the event. Thank you to one of our employers Tim Kocur, Oliver Hierlihy and Dorsa Alizadeh-Shabani, from The Waterfront BIA for attending and joining in the festivities.

At Progress Place, events like these are vital to our mission of fostering mental wellness through community and connection. We believe that shared experiences, support, and celebration are cornerstones of a healthy and vibrant community.

One week ago today we celebrated World Mental Health Day! Clubhouse International and Progress Place joined millions around the globe to raise awareness about mental health and to show why ConnectionWORKS on World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2025! Connection is a foundational principle of the Clubhouse Model, empowering individuals to stay connected to friends, family, and community in an effort to end the isolation that is often accompanied with mental illness. About Progress Place:

Progress Place Clubhouse is a mental health community centre dedicated to improving the lives of people living with mental illness. Collaborating with partners in the business community, Progress Place is able to give people living with mental illness the chance to work in the competitive job market, receive the support they need to stay on the job, get paid a competitive wage and ultimately improve their self-confidence.

Join us this World Mental Health Day – October 10, as we partner with .international
in recognizing as a key to recovery for people living with mental illness. Stay tuned through October 10 as we share all the ways ConnectionWORKS! for our members and be sure to follow us on social media.
One of the ways connection works is through the Transitional Employment Program. The Clubhouse offers its own Transitional Employment program, which provides as a right of membership opportunities for members to work on job placements in the labor market.

Progress Place was chosen from among 13 applicants to receive the Kincaid Award. Established by Level5, the Kincaid Award honors the impactful professional work and philanthropic commitment of David and Janet Kincaid.

David and Janet Kincaid recognized the tremendous impact that Progress Place has on its members, their families, and the wider community. They selected Progress Place for the award in admiration of the organization's unwavering drive, accountability, ambition, integrity, and the genuine care demonstrated by both its members and staff.

Clubhouses around the world demonstrate every day that connection is a catalyst for recovery. Clubhouse members and staff work together to support resilience and independence among Clubhouse members. By breaking the cycle of isolation, Clubhouses foster a deep sense of belonging in a supportive, purpose-driven community. This connection restores confidence,(re)builds lives, and opens doors to employment, education, wellness, and meaning. In a world where isolation too often defines mental illness, Clubhouses offer a powerful alternative: community, purpose, and hope.

World Mental Health Day is one month away on October 10th, 2025!

WMHD aims to raise awareness of mental health and to mobilize efforts
to eliminate stigma and discrimination. It is a time to unify voices from around the world and to empower communities to work towards sustainable change for people with lived experience.

This years theme is ConnectionWORKS and highlights the transformative power
of the Clubhouse approach by emphasizing the essential role that
connection plays in mental health recovery.

Whether it be through work order day or social recreation programming the power of clubhouse connection matters and makes a difference to so many who are a part of this community!

Due to City of Toronto water maintenance, the building's water service will be shut off at 5PM today. We will therefore unfortunately have to close the Clubhouse early at 5PM. We apologize for any inconvenience. We will still be serving a takeout dinner. You can pick up your meal from the front entrance between 5pm-630pm!
