Introducing one of the mermaid designs from my new Macramé Affirmation Doll Collection - "Soft Life".

This series also includes other doll types like fairies, nature lovers, and more 🧚‍♂️ .

I decided to include dolls as a Boho & Knots offering to help represent and amplify the beauty of physical & cultural diversity, but also the beautiful ways neurodiversity shows up and influences us daily.

Our divergent sensibilities, which are more related to how we experience and sense ourselves and the world around us, are sometimes difficult to explain, understand, or accept.

That's why references like "mermaid" archetype are often used to describe people who seem to in how they show up in life.

But what if I told you the mermaids in our society & social groups (who are essentially the "black sheeps") are those who can access a more broad range (spectrum) of senses that allows people (and other living things) to discover ways that help them experience more inner joy, peace, and wellness in their daily "be-ing"?

What if I told you the mermaids, and all related archetypes, teach us that embracing our sense of neurodiversity helps us expand and enhance our lived experience because doing so means we've given ourselves permission to be and show up whole - as we sense ourselves to be.

These Macramé Affirmation Dolls are designed to serve as reminders of this truth.

The dolls serve to help amplify the gifts found in the spectrum of our neurodiversity and how these gifts will enhance our sense of wellbeing as they signal what people, places, and things resonates most with our wholeness.

While life isn't always blissful, we can explore ways to sense more joy, beauty, softness.

Like the mermaids do. 🧜‍♀️

Here's the Intro:
Hi All, I’ve been immersed in some creative projects but I wanted to create some time to discuss the new Boho & Knots macramé doll collections I’ve been working on as they’ve really been truly inspiring and motivating in ways I actually didn’t anticipate. While making macramé wall-hangings, mandalas, and plant pot holders are some of my most favorite projects to work on, lately I’ve been immersed in making dolls. When I made my first doll, it really didn’t turn out right. In fact, I almost took it as a sign to stick to the designs that were more home décor related.

Yet, something within me kept bringing me back to the idea of creating the dolls. So, I leaned in with curiosity and the learning objective to try again, and see what happens.

The second time around it worked better than I thought. Yet, not just because I got the heads to stay on straight and not because I got the proportions of the arms and legs right, but because putting the dolls together opened up so many more creative ideas; ones I initially wasn’t thinking of.

While I recognized I would be able to add macramé dolls to my portfolio and creative repertoire list, it also dawned on me that they are actually perfect for a new macramé workshop project or as a multi-day macramé program or wellness retreat.
