If you’ve ever tried to dodge a sidewalk snowbank on Bloor or stepped into a surprise slush puddle by the lake, you already know how winter travels indoors.

To help protect our newly renovated floors and keep our clinic safe for everyone, we kindly ask that all outdoor footwear be removed before entering treatment and training areas.

Please bring clean indoor shoes to change into once inside.

Road salt, melting snow, and wet boots can damage flooring and create slippery surfaces. This small step helps keep Pivot clean, safe, and comfortable through the winter months.

Thanks for helping us keep the slush at the door.

Warmly,
The Pivot Sport Medicine Team 💙🧡

Don't start injured. Most January injuries do not happen on day one.

They show up a few weeks in, when routines restart, activity ramps up, and your body is still adjusting to cold mornings, icy sidewalks, and muscles that have been sitting through snow days and long commutes.

It is the first big walk after weeks off.
The first workout back.
The shovel you lifted a little too fast because the snow was heavier than it looked.

Prevention is not about doing less.
It is about doing things smarter.

That means building back gradually.
Supporting joints and muscles as they adapt.
And paying attention before a small strain turns into something that lingers all winter.

If you are getting back into movement between Bloor West, Mimico, or anywhere the sidewalks stay questionable well into February, this is your reminder to ease in with intention.

Your body does not need a shock to get stronger.
It needs consistency, support, and care that works together.

January is a ramp-up, not a race.

Book chiropractic and massage as a team, not a last resort.

A quick update from us 🤍

Our Bloor West clinic is undergoing renovations, and while that work happens, all appointments have temporarily moved to our Mimico location so we can continue to see everyone comfortably and without disruption.

📍 All visits will take place at Pivot Sport Mimico
🗓 This temporary move is in effect until January 19

Same practitioners. Same level of care. Just a different location for a short while.

If you have any questions, our team is always happy to help, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to Bloor West very soon.

January in Toronto asks a lot from your body.
Cold mornings, busy schedules, packed classes, slippery sidewalks.

At Pivot Sport, we don’t treat wellness like a reset or a resolution. We look at how your body actually moves, recovers, and holds up through real life in Bloor West and Mimico.

That means pairing workouts with recovery.
Supporting joints, muscles, and energy levels. Building routines you can sustain long after January ends.

If you’re training, dealing with pain, coming back from an injury, or just trying to move better this winter, our team is here to help.

Book an appointment or stop by our Bloor West or Mimico clinics to start the season with support that actually makes sense.

2025, you were full.

This year at Pivot Sport looked like early mornings, late appointments, tough conversations, big wins, quiet breakthroughs, and a lot of trust placed in our team.

By the numbers, we supported 4,809 patients across physiotherapy, chiropractic care, massage therapy, sports medicine, kinesiology, pelvic floor therapy, osteopathy, nutrition, and more, but what mattered most were the moments behind those numbers.

The first pain-free run.
The return to work without discomfort.
The athlete who thought they were “done”, and wasn’t.

We welcomed new team members, opened our Mimico clinic, launched a Pivot-branded app (for our sister brand Pivot Dancer), deepened partnerships with local athletic communities, and continued doing what we do best: providing thoughtful, multidisciplinary care in Toronto that treats the whole person, not just the injury.

To our patients: thank you for trusting us with your bodies, your goals, and your recovery.

Here’s to moving better, feeling stronger, and taking care of what matters most in 2026.

— Team Pivot 💙

Meet Abbey, our newest Resident Physiotherapist at Pivot Sport!

Abbey’s journey into physiotherapy began in Oakville, where she spent years training and competing as a dancer with the Canadian Dance Company. Her own rehabilitation experiences gave her a firsthand understanding of how physiotherapy can restore movement, confidence, and performance, something she’s carried into her career.

After completing her Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University, Abbey worked as a Physiotherapy Assistant in orthopedic private practice before earning her Master of Physical Therapy at Western University. Through her diverse clinical placements, she developed a well-rounded approach to treatment rooted in education, movement, and evidence-based care.

Abbey is passionate about helping patients take an active role in their recovery, whether that means returning to sport, optimizing daily function, or preventing injury. When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll find her weightlifting, running, practicing yoga, or mentoring young dancers.

We are so excited to have Abbey as part of the Pivot Sport family. Go to pivotsmo.com to book an appointment with her today!
