Centred Physiotherapy

Centred Physiotherapy Sarah offers orthopaedic and women's pelvic health physiotherapy either in-clinic or in the comfort of your home.

Move with confidence & find your centre ~ at every stage of life. For me it was my big toe… I had started practicing yoga to help relieve stress while I was attending Physiotherapy School. During one of my first classes an incredible instructor gave a subtle cue about my big toe while in triangle pose. Unexpectedly I felt an amazing opening along the side of my body and that was it, the pose and my life were forever changed! From that moment on I became passionate about exploring the body through yoga and learning to integrate the principles of yoga with my knowledge as a Physiotherapist. Through my studies I came to learn that yoga was much more than just the physical experience that I was so focused on. I began to see the way a consistent practice brought balance and light to my life and a deeper understanding of my true self. As a teacher my goal is to share this light with my students and for each student to leave the class feeling as though it was meant just for them. I look forward to sharing this practice with you!

The mirror understood the assignment.Pelvic health PTs… IYKYK 😂
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But in all seriousness I had the BEST time chatting all things pelvic health + perimenopause with Tanya Church and Kim Desmarais .nutrition on the .podcast
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We covered: • what the pelvic floor really does • tissue changes in perimenopause • strength training (without fear) • why it’s never too late • and simple ways to optimize pelvic health in midlife
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was such an honour to join a podcast I truly love listening to and I’m so excited to share this conversation with you.
Perimenopause isn’t the end of pelvic health. It’s an invitation to optimize it. 🤍

It’s time for Part 2 of my “How to Actually Fit in Your Physio Exercises” series 🤍
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today we’re talking about reducing friction,
making exercises functional for your daily life,
using videos as reminders,
and setting gentle prompts that help you follow through.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One way I support this in clinic is through personalized video exercises with the app, so your program is clear, guided, and easy to access when real life gets busy.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because fitting it in isn’t about willpower.
It’s about making it simple.
✨ Clear demos
✨ Short, doable options
✨ Support you can revisit anytime
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Small moments count.
Build a rhythm that works with your real life.

I often start here, with the breath.
A small pause that can change how your body feels and functions.
If you’re watching this…let it be a gentle reminder to pause and breathe. We all need it!

January Exercise PSA 🚨
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Check your exercise before you check your form 😅
(Old, dried-out bands can snap, sometimes mid-rep)
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A little January reminder:
• Check your exercise bands (old ones love to break)
• Ease back in, there’s no rush
• Progress gradually
• Let movement feel supportive, not punishing
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re returning to exercise and want a physiotherapy plan that’s designed for you, I’m always happy to help.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I’m excited to have created my own video library to help guide you…without the bloopers, I promise.🤍

As we settle into a new year, many of us are easing back into the routines of work, family life, and the habits we hope to maintain.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One thing I hear all the time in the clinic is:
“I know my exercises help… I just struggle to fit them in.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So I thought I’d start a new series sharing some of my favourite, realistic tips to help clients actually fit in their physio exercises.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Think:
✨ movement “snacks”
✨ pairing exercises with daily habits
✨ small moments that add up
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is Part 1 of 3, and we’re starting with the basics: small moments count, build a rhythm that works with your real life.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Save this for later & swipe through to get started 🤍

About Centred Physiotherapy

One of the foundations of the physiotherapy profession is offering patient “Centred” care. That means care that takes into account all aspects of a patient’s life. Things like your work, your hobbies, your responsibilities, your goals, the things that nourish you and even the things that stress you.

Sarah believes exceptional care happens when both the therapist and client are “Centred” and working on these shared meaningful goals. For Sarah this is achieved by scheduling ample time and by offering one-on-one visits in the comfort of your home. Sarah’s approach is grounded in extensive post-graduate training, clinical experience and evidence-based practices.

Sarah gets to the “Centre” of the problem at hand by using an integrative approach to treatment including a detailed biomechanical exam, advanced training in manual therapy, thoughtful prescriptive exercise, and complementary tools such as acupuncture, yoga and mindfulness practices.

Through supportive listening Sarah connects with each client around what is meaningful to them and eagerly works with other health care providers such as family physicians and allied health practitioners to create a team approach to care.
