Loy overcame many obstacles on her journey to nursing in Canada. But now she has come full circle and is supporting IENs as Case Manager at CARE Centre.

"I guide newcomer IENs on their journey to re-establish their nursing careers in Ontario. To me CARE Centre is a family. After retiring from bedside nursing, I rejoined Care Centre as a PASS case manager for Vancouver and Yukon to use my knowledge, skills and experience to help newcomer nurses. CARE Centre’s work is essential in making those dreams realities."

Loy Asheri: Case Manager, RN, MSc, PASS Case Manager (BC and Yukon)

Case Manager Spotlight: Luciana Lima, RN, BScN, IBCLC 💙

"My personal journey as an IEN has been marked by resilience, continuous learning, and leadership—now fuels my work mentoring other IENs as a Case Manager at CARE Centre and as an Instructor in the Transitioning to Practice in Ontario for IENs program at the University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies. I deeply understand both the professional and emotional realities of rebuilding a career in a new country, and I am passionate about helping others do the same."

Case Manager Spotlight: Tina Novotny 💙

"In my time case managing at CARE Centre I have had the privilege to work with dedicated IENs from all over the world. Their circumstances can vary greatly, the level of resources and support they bring with them to Canada, but they are all wholly determined to re-establish their nursing careers. They heal us, they keep us healthy, they give back to this country in so many ways. It's been my honour to work with CARE Centre's member IENs for 15 years. We salute them!
