Saint Elizabeth Foundation is grateful to be featured in Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Toronto March edition of their Insights & Encounters newsletter.

Our story reflects on Hospice Palliative Care Ontario’s MPP Day at Queen’s Park, where leaders in the end-of-life care space across the province came together to advocate for hospice palliative care and the essential role of community-based supports.

We were honoured to contribute to these important conversations, helping ensure lived experience and community expertise continue to shape public policy.

During a recent music therapy session at Saint Elizabeth Foundation | Journey Home Hospice, a ToneChime set was used to create gentle, resonant sounds together. The therapist shared how much the experience was enjoyed, bringing a sense of calm, connection, and expression to the space.

Experiences like these reflect the importance of integrating therapeutic programming into care, supporting emotional well-being, encouraging expression, and fostering meaningful connection at every stage of the journey.

With the Foundation, Endowment & Not-for-Profit Investment Summit 2026 in Toronto now wrapped up, members of the Saint Elizabeth Foundation | SE Health team were grateful to spend two days in conversation with peers across the philanthropic sector.

Discussions throughout the summit focused on the responsibility foundations carry in stewarding the resources entrusted to them, ensuring financial decisions remain closely aligned with mission and long-term community impact.

At Saint Elizabeth Foundation, this responsibility guides how we invest and steward resources so they continue to support compassionate care, innovation, and programs like Journey Home Hospice that serve some of the most vulnerable members of our communities.

Members of the Saint Elizabeth Foundation | SE Health team were grateful to attend Day 1 of the Foundation, Endowment & Not-for-Profit Investment Summit 2026 in Toronto, joining colleagues from across the philanthropic sector.

A key theme throughout the day was the importance of aligning financial stewardship with mission. For foundations, how we invest and steward resources is inseparable from why we exist.

At Saint Elizabeth Foundation, we remain committed to ensuring the resources entrusted to us continue to advance compassionate care, innovation, and support for the communities we serve, including through programs like Journey Home Hospice.

We are grateful to be in conversation with peers who share a deep commitment to responsible stewardship and mission-driven impact.

🌹 Happy International Women’s Day 🌹

Today we recognize the women across SE Health and the Saint Elizabeth Foundation whose leadership, compassion, and commitment advance equity, dignity, and care for our communities.

Founded in 1908 by four pioneering female nurses, and inspired by our namesake Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, a 13th-century saint who went where no one else wanted to tread, our organization continues a legacy of courage, service, and compassion that guides everything we do.

A game of cribbage is more than a pastime. It can spark memory, encourage conversation, and create connection.

At Saint Elizabeth Foundation | Journey Home Hospice, recreational activities are thoughtfully integrated into our model of care, creating opportunities for familiarity, choice, and meaningful engagement.

Quality end-of-life care is not only about clinical support, it’s also about honouring the whole person, including the moments that bring comfort, joy, and connection.
