Intimacy.
So many of us who have decided to integrate spiritual practice into their lives yearn for their partners to join them. When faced with the question of how to make this happen, there is only one way. Just do your thing. Walk your path. And, welcome them when they feel called to join you.
His reason was the recognition that he wanted to have more shared experiences with me, especially this practice which has had such a profound effect on my life.
His motivation? Ahealth crisis that had him appreciate what was most important like never before and has led him towards juicing, new supplements, meditation, yoga, less screen time, more rest and more .
This photo was taken prior to us doing together. I had chosen to end the practice with , one of the most powerful and researched kundalini meditations, that has been shown to prevent and reverse cognitive decline.
The makes use of a that is first chanted in full voice, then in a whisper, then vibrated silently in the mind, then again in a whisper and finally in full voice, followed by a minute of silence. The mantra is Sa Ta Na MA, which represent the cycle of life: birth, life, death, rebirth.
It was on the second round of repeating the mantra in a whisper, the voice of longing, that I had the most profound experience of connection to him, my partner of 20 years. With eyes closed, staring behind my lids through my , his voice whispering back in unison with mine, this deep sense of gratitude that our souls found each other. Across lifetimes, and many lands, the sense was that we have been connected over ages and that we succeeded in finding each other..again.
The tears silently streamed down my face, my heart filled with the deepest love.
It's a moment I will never forget.
