West End Midwives West End Midwives (WEM) is committed to providing the women of Etobicoke, Rexdale and West Toronto with the best in midwifery care services.

Our catchment is north of St. Clair to Steeles, east from Dufferin to Highway 27. We provide care which supports a woman's right to choose her place of birth, provides women with continuity of care and in which women are seen as the primary decision makers in their care. We aim to provide the fullest scope of midwifery care to women of diverse backgrounds and situations.

WEST END MIDWIVES IS HIRING!
NEW REGISTRANT 2026

⭐️West End Midwives provides care to a very diverse population including many newcomers to Canada and clients without OHIP.

⭐️We are a cohesive group of 20+ midwives coming from dynamic and diverse origins including those from IBPOC and settler backgrounds as well as midwives who are part of the LGBTQ2S+ community. Among us we provide care in 8 different languages.

⭐️We are a practice with blended call models including shared call, with most midwives typically working in teams of 2 or 3. Some midwives choose to work in a primary call or primary hybrid model.

⭐️We are looking for a ¾ to full time new registrant. The start date is flexible from Spring 2026 onward.

⭐️Interested applicants should send a cover letter stating:
*Why they are interested in working at WEM.
*When they anticipate they will be available to start.
*How their previous experience will enable them to integrate and work effectively at WEM given the special demands of our diverse clientele.

• We are a practice of 20+ midwives located in northwest Toronto. We provide care for clients in West Toronto, Etobicoke and Rexdale.
• We have privileges at William Osler Health System - Etobicoke General site and Humber River Hospital where we practice full scope and have excellent inter-professional relationships.
• We are a practice with blended call models including primary call, primary hybrid model and shared call, with most midwives typically working in teams of two or three

Tips on staying cool:
- stay well hydrated (2-4L) and elevate your feet
-utilize sunscreen
-avoid sun over-exposure and strenuous activity - if your home is hot, consider staying with family/friends that may have a cooler environment
- look into cooling centres near you: libraries, pools, splash pads
-wear lighter clothing
