If you’re working toward the splits, you'll need to stretch the hamstrings and hip flexors because they are the two major muscle groups that control the front and back of the legs.
When the hamstrings are tight, they create resistance and prevent the front leg from fully extending.
A lot of people have tight hip flexors from prolonged sitting, which makes it difficult for the pelvis to square and for the back leg to extend straight behind. The back leg requires opening the hip flexors, especially the psoas and quadriceps.

-I'll typically hold each position for about a minute, except for the one at the wall. It's quite active and can be tiresome, so I usually do about 3 rounds there.

-Have patience! Don't expect to get it right away, but with persistence, you'll notice continued subtle changes. Holding these poses for longer periods of times will have increased benefits.

In addition to an out of the ordinary weekend, I was met with a situational conversation/circumstance that became mentally and emotionally exhausting.
It took me years to learn that if a self-destructive person cannot take care of themselves and expects me to carry their weight, it's ok to say NO.
My kindness is not an invitation to be taken advantage of, nor am I responsible for fixing the problems of someone who won't help themselves.
A reminder for anyone else who may be reading this post ✌️
Today was a time to rest and reset, reflect, and ignore work, guilt-free 😊

The #1 mistake I see instructors make that keeps them from earning a stable income?

Treating their position like a casual or optional gig.

Yes, it can be challenging at first to find enough hours for a sustainable income. But if you treat it like a side hustle, it will always be just that.

If you work for an establishment and nonchalantly assume it’s okay to get your classes covered last minute, consider this:

You’re inconveniencing the owner.

You’re putting pressure on another instructor to help out.

You’re disappointing clients who booked your class—nobody likes surprises.

Maintaining professionalism through integrity and reliability builds your reputation and opens the door to future opportunities.

Surreal. Humbled. Grateful.

Standing in a room filled with passionate, driven individuals, I’m reminded of the power of community, leadership, and the ripple effect of impact. Seeing myself on the big screen as someone who trains and inspires others—it’s a moment I don’t take lightly. This journey has been fueled by incredible people, and I’m beyond honored to be part of something bigger than myself.

Here’s to growth, mentorship, and lifting each other higher. ✨

As a new instructor, if you are afraid to start teaching classes and think you're going to solve it by enrolling in more trainings, I have news for you.

That extra piece of paper with your name on it won't give you the validation you hoped it would.

Confidence is gained through application. Your best bet is to just start teaching.

Do not expect perfection. It takes hours upon hours of practice to gain a felt sense of comfort, obtained little by little, as you find your voice. Trust what you already know. It's good enough. I promise.
