📢 Statement on malicious emails & communications - Thursday 16th October 2025 📢
We are aware that a series of malicious emails have been circulating to our affiliates and associates of the Spiritualists’ National Union (’SNU’) and the Arthur Findlay College (’AFC’), targeting senior figures within the SNU.
We acknowledge that the tone and content of these communications — along with the materials they reference — have caused significant concern and distress. We wish to reassure all affiliates and associates that these emails did not originate from within the SNU or AFC.
Nonetheless, we are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness. We are actively seeking counsel and reviewing potential breaches of data protection legislation, given the unauthorised and widespread dissemination of personal information by the sender.
We can confirm that no data breach has occurred within the SNU’s systems.
In the meantime, we strongly advise members not to engage with or respond to these emails. If possible, please delete them or mark them as spam using your email settings.
As a Union, we value open dialogue and constructive criticism. However, the recent escalation into targeted harassment and personal attacks is unacceptable. Our volunteers, staff, members, and officials have the right to carry out their roles without fear of intimidation, abuse, or defamation.
