🚑 KED Training in Action

Our EMR students are getting hands-on with the Kendrick Extrication Device (KED) — learning how to properly stabilize and package patients for safe removal from confined spaces.

From securing the torso to maintaining spinal alignment, every step matters. These scenarios are where knowledge turns into skill — and skill turns into confidence.

At Pulse Point Canada, we don’t just teach it — we practice it.

👏 Strong teamwork and attention to detail from this group!

Future firefighters in training.

One of the most important skills taught in our Emergency Medical Responder program is high-quality CPR.

Early CPR can double or triple survival during cardiac arrest.

Many fire departments require EMR certification before you can apply.

If you’re preparing for a career in the fire service, this training is a critical step.

Next EMR course dates are available through the link in our bio.

Hands-on learning in progress. Our EMR students are practicing vital signs assessment, building the skills and confidence they’ll need to care for patients in real emergencies.

Vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and oxygen saturation provide critical information about a patient’s condition. For first responders, accurately assessing and interpreting these signs can help identify life-threatening problems early and guide the care that follows.

In our classroom, students don’t just learn the theory—they practice the skills repeatedly in realistic scenarios so they’re prepared when it matters most. From proper cuff placement to interpreting readings, every detail counts when someone’s health is on the line.

This is where knowledge turns into competence, and competence turns into confidence.

Realism matters.

During our EMR practical scenarios, students don’t just learn skills — they learn how to think, prioritize, communicate, and act under pressure. High-fidelity moulage and scenario-based training help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world response, building confidence where it counts.

Today’s scenarios focused on:
• Rapid patient assessment
• Hemorrhage control and tourniquet application
• Team communication under stress
• Scene safety and decision-making

Every scenario is a safe learning environment designed to prepare responders for the moments that truly matter.

Training today. Ready tomorrow.

Hands-on readiness in action.

Our Pulse Point Canada EMR students are learning that patient care starts long before the call — by preparing, organizing, and knowing their equipment inside and out. Today we did some training focused on building and stocking trauma bags, ensuring every tool is exactly where it needs to be when seconds count.

Preparation saves time. Time saves lives.

Grateful to receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the CCGA for 10 years of volunteering with PARA Marine Search and Rescue. Thankful for the opportunity to continue serving as crew and Coxswain, and for the trust placed in me over the years in roles including Community Development Officer, Training Officer, and now Board Member. It’s been a privilege to serve alongside such a dedicated team.
