Rainbow Health Ontario Advancing 2SLGBTQ+ health equity in Ontario through provider training, resources and advocacy.

Faire progresser l'équité en matière de santé 2SLGBTQ+ en Ontario grâce à la formation des prestataires, aux ressources et aux efforts de plaidoyer. Rainbow Health Ontario works to ensure 2SLGBTQ+ communities receive equitable, affirming health care across Ontario. We train health care and service providers in clinically and culturally competent care, develop evidence-based resources, advocate for inclusive policy change, and host Canada’s largest 2SLGBTQ+ health conference. Endometriosis is a chronic, systemic inflammatory disease. It occurs when tissue similar to the uterine lining grows elsewhere in the body, often responding to hormonal changes and causing symptoms such as pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding and infertility.

Endometriosis is estimated to affect one in 10 people assigned female at birth in Canada, though the actual number is unknown because many cases go undiagnosed.

Transmasculine individuals with endometriosis face a double burden. They must manage the condition while also dealing with social stigma, discrimination and culturally incompetent health-care providers.

Read more in the International Journal of Transgender Health: "The case for inclusive endometriosis care to address barriers for transmasculine endometriosis patients in Canada" by Emily Grace Johnston. Published March 3, 2026. https://doi.org/10.1080/26895269.2026.2637852

March 8 is International Women's Day, a day to celebrate and honour all the women who challenge inequity.

The fight for women's rights has never been single-issue. It is intersectional: a fight against misogyny, racism, transphobia, homophobia, ableism and all forms of individual and systemic oppression.

Today, we celebrate the women of the past who disrupted these systems, and we uplift the women carrying that torch forward.

February 25 is Pink Shirt Day—a day to raise awareness about bullying. According to data from the Canadian Health Survey of Children and Youth (2019):

➡️ 77% of sexually and gender diverse youth were bullied in the previous year, compared to 69% of their cisgender, heterosexual peers.

➡️ 10% of sexually and gender diverse youth faced bullying weekly or daily, versus 6% of other youth.

On Pink Shirt Day, and every day, we must implement strategies to make spaces safer for 2SLGBTQ+ youth.

"Studies show that Black birthing people are 3-4 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white birthing people, even when education and income are accounted for. This is not due to biology — it is the result of implicit bias, medical racism, and systemic neglect."

In our Gender-Affirming Perinatal Care course, we share this important resource: The Reproductive Health + Equity Resource Guide on the Black U.S. Experience. Read more: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19jvh-jZw07e307ZGscatwkO4WFj0lAHRSAgXP5EBsYI/edit?usp=sharing
