Ongoing heel or arch pain from plantar fasciitis or Achilles issues can be hard to manage.

Radial Shockwave (Radial Pressure Wave) Therapy is a non-surgical treatment that uses targeted pressure waves to support healing in irritated tissue. At Care-Med, we provide this using the Swiss DolorClast Smart20.

If you've tried rest, stretching, or footwear changes and pain is still lingering, a treatment assessment can help you decide whether Shockwave Therapy is a good next step. 💙

Wondering whether to start with orthotics or physical therapy for your foot / leg pain? You're not alone..

Orthotics support the way your feet move and help improve alignment from the ground up. Physical therapy focuses on strength, flexibility, and movement patterns. For many people, the best results come from using both together.

Our latest blog walks through when orthotics might be most helpful, when physical therapy makes more sense, and how a foot assessment can help you choose a plan.

Is your work posture stressing your back, neck, and knees? For every inch your head leans forward, the strain on your spine adds up.

Try to keep both feet flat, sit tall with shoulders relaxed, and bring your screen up to eye level. Short standing or walking breaks every 30 minutes can also reduce stiffness.

If pain keeps creeping in, supports like back braces, knee braces, or custom orthotics can add extra stability while you work.

A bit of redness or itching is common when you first start wearing a brace, but it shouldn’t be painful or ongoing. 😓

A few ways that can help:
- Make sure the brace is snug, not tight.
- Start with clean, dry skin and skip heavy creams under the brace.
- Use a thin, soft liner or sleeve to reduce friction and absorb sweat.
- If your care plan allows, take short breaks and check for hot spots.

If irritation doesn't settle, or you see rash or broken skin, it's a good idea to talk with your healthcare provider.

We've shared more simple tips here:

If you're living with ongoing swelling or heaviness in your legs or arms, we understand how exhausting it can be.

Compression pump therapy is one more tool that can help. Using a soft sleeve and gentle, rhythmic pressure, it supports circulation, helps reduce swelling, and gives your lymphatic system a boost. It's often used for conditions like lymphedema, venous insufficiency, or post-surgical swelling, alongside your doctor's care.

Do you know the early signs of a blood clot in the leg (DVT)?

Sometimes it starts with subtle changes: swelling in one leg, warmth, redness, tightness, or pain in the calf or thigh - especially after travel, surgery, or long periods of sitting.

https://care-med.ca/deep-vein-thrombosis/

DVT is serious, and anything sudden or severe (like chest pain or shortness of breath) needs emergency care. This article walks through risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis, and how compression can support recovery once treatment has started.

This post is for general information and isn't a substitute for medical advice. If you're worried about your symptoms, please speak with a healthcare provider.

Learn how to spot the symptoms of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), what to do if you're concerned, and when to seek medical care.

Icy sidewalks, heavy boots and freezing temps can be tough on your legs. The good news is that a few simple habits can help you stay safe and comfortable.

Make sure to wear supportive boots (with room for orthotics), move around often to boost blood flow, and throw on compression socks if you notice swelling.
