Just wanted to share what's making me food-happy this week!
I had tried meal delivery services (yes, multiple), organic grocery bin deliveries (again, multiple) and even a meal prep delivery (where stuff comes pre-portipned and you cook - singular. Lol not a hit for me).
And I couldn't find something that worked.
I found either I got bored of the same flavours, the same style of eating, or knowing what to do with the vegetables I'm not used to eating.
From the time I started manager training, my work life became the most dedicated hours out of the house I'd ever spent. Then I took over Danforth, and I wanted to do a world's best job (of course!).
So my days got longer, and my take out got more extensive. (Plus, feeling like a local hero for supporting local resto's made it simple!).
Anyway, I've now gone one full week without takeout (don't worry local resto's, we'll be back! ππ), and I can genuinely say that's the single-longest amount of time without takeout for me since March of 2020.
Life got busy, and I needed food I could count on, being done for me.
Anyway, whilst on vacation dreaming up plans and talking through challenges, looking for more life balance, we ended up looking into, trying, and then buying . I should add here this is not sponsored in any way. I haven't been in touch with them. We actively pay for the service. And I'm sharing this just because I know time is busy, and I have lots of fam and friends in the same boat, who look to me for healthy food advice/making health work. π
Anyway, they dream up a delicious meal plan (vegan - but feel free to add chicken or whatever, or just enjoy the well-flavoured plants!), create your grocery list out of it. You can easily swap snacks or meals out for something you'll like more (and your grocery list will be auto-updated). They leave you with leftovers for one extra meal (not 5 π). You can adjust servings, to create no or more leftovers, for exactly how many adults or kiddo's you have. And it tells you what to do on weekends so your weeknight cooking is all prepped and takes around 20 minutes or so per dish.
