Greetings to my Covenant Families, Friends and Community Members

It is with heartfelt gratitude that I announce that I have closed my office in Scarborough and will be reopening upon licensure in Orangeville, Ontario.

This decision has come with great thought and anticipation of rebranding into a vision of what my services are expanding to become.

As we await our licensing ensuring all protocols have been met. All incoming funeral service requests must be redirected to a licensed funeral director and funeral establishment.

I will be offering services catering to all of life's events from beginning to end and everything in between. For those who I have had the honor to provide such services, themselves can attest to the caliber and care I pride myself in.

The decision was not an easy one because some may feel I'm abandoning a community that needs me and my service.

That building was a location that was minimally used to serve families as we were always out in the community. The pandemic has given us the opportunity to see what is really needed from what isn't.

I have always believed in seeing the glass half full rather than half empty and take all opportunities as a stepping stone to a higher elevation.

In the meantime, I will be taking a well deserved rest and sabbatical to focus on rebranding and serving the community in a personalized way.

Our new space will be accessible to servicing the entire GTA and beyond thanks to the many churches that have opened their doors to us and will continue to come to you in your times of need.

Our new space is 6000 square feet of unrestricted freedom with parking access beyond your eye's vision, multilevel access catering to all physical abilities and budgets.

Our contact numbers will remain the same and as always, truly a phone call away.

Thank you for your prayers, your belief in me and my vision in caring for you in all of your journeying.

Your kindness, encouragement and even criticisms have evolved Covenant into something that others will continue trying to replicate

CARLING: Shermaine Tacay- Shermaine Tacay Carling was a loving mother to two children and the sole provider to her family. She was a sweet daughter and a charming friend to many. Shermaine hails from Kapangan, Benguet Province, Philippines.

Sadly, her life was cut short by a horrendous tragedy.

Seeking a better opportunity for herself and a brighter future for her two lovely young children back in the Philippines, she came to Canada in 2016. When she had just arrived in Canada, she worked as a farmer on a farm day in and day out on a few farms in Leamington, Ontario.

On September 29, 2022, the officers responded to a 911 call on Mill Street East, where Shermaine was found dead at her residence.

We are all devastated by her loss. She will be greatly missed by everyone in the community, especially her kids.

Unfortunately, Shermaine’s family savings have been depleted. This fund has been created to provide a traditional casket burial for Shermaine and assist her young children and mother (the caretaker of her children) while they are going through this miserable phase in their lives.

We hope all of our prayers and generosity will help alleviate the financial burdens her family will face while in grief.

We humbly ask for your help; your support means so much to her kids and her family, as any amount will truly help her family during this difficult time.

Family and Friends of SHERMAINE TACAY CARLING are respectfully invited to attend the funeral viewing which will be held at COVENANT FUNERAL HOMES (BALMORAL CHAPEL) 2505, EGLINTON AVENUE EAST, SCARBOROUGH, ON, M1K2R1 on October 7, 2022, beginning at 11AM until 8PM. Church service will be at 6PM-7PM.

Donations will be put towards her burial costs and supporting her immediate family.

We thank you so much for all your help, continued prayers and generosity. God bless!
