Age is just a number when you have the right support. 💯

Watch this inspiring centenarian tackle the stairs of his home, guided by physiotherapist .

At Propel Physiotherapy, we believe in empowering every client to reach for the next level of their ability. It’s not about age—it’s about goals, creativity, and thoughtful progress.

With balance being top of mind, this client has practised weight shifting and static/dynamic balance exercises separately so he can apply them to functional tasks at home/in the community.

Whether it’s climbing stairs, accessing public transit, or moving confidently at home, we build the strength, balance, and confidence to make independence possible.

This is a kind reminder to always look to the next level of physical ability for your clients and base the next steps on a thorough assessment!

Your next level is waiting. Let’s get there, together.

Do you know the safest way to get up after a fall? 🤔

A fall can be scary, but knowing what to do is powerful. Learning the safe, staged technique can prevent further injury.

Watch and learn these key steps:

1. Stay Calm & Check: Don’t rush. Check for pain.
2. Roll to Your Side: Use your arms to guide the movement.

A huge thank you to the Brain Injury Association of Durham (BIAD) for the invitation to be a guest panelist at yesterday...
10/28/2025

A huge thank you to the Brain Injury Association of Durham (BIAD) for the invitation to be a guest panelist at yesterday’s Impact to Insight community event. It was an honour to share insights on the rehabilitation journey and discuss the very real barriers and facilitators to brain injury rehab in our community.

A key theme of our discussion was the non-linear and deeply unique nature of every single brain injury journey. We also addressed the critical need to bridge the gap between our publicly funded health system and private clinics—a gap that community organizations like BIAD work tirelessly to fill.

To create a truly supportive ecosystem, we need more accessible resources: consistent workshops, virtual classes, and education seminars for both survivors and their networks. The impact of a brain injury ripples out, affecting caregivers, family, and friends, and our support systems must encompass them all.

Grateful for the vital work BIAD does and for the powerful community partnerships that make a real difference. Let’s continue to build a more connected and resilient support network together.
