Myth or Fact? Step Into the Truth.

Diabetes doesn’t just change how your body manages sugar. It can also:
▪️Reduce circulation, making it harder for wounds to heal
▪️Affect nerve function, sometimes causing numbness or tingling
▪️Alter foot mechanics, increasing the risk of pressure points and injuries
▪️Lead to skin and nail changes, such as dryness, cracks, or infections

The good news? With proper foot care and regular visits to a chiropodist, many of these complications can be managed or prevented. Early detection and consistent care make all the difference in keeping your feet healthy and pain-free.

Today, we pause to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served, and those who continue to serve, in the pursuit of peace and freedom.

On this Remembrance Day, we reflect with gratitude on their bravery and selflessness, and we remember the lives forever impacted by their service.

🌺 Lest we forget.

Hi everyone, Taz your friendly neighbourhood Chiropodist here!

Ingrown toenails are one of the most common issues I see in the clinic, and the good news is, they’re often preventable with a few simple habits.

Here are my top 3 tips to help keep your nails healthy and pain-free:

1. Trim your toenails straight across. Don’t round the corners, that encourages the nail to grow into the skin.

2. Avoid cutting them too short. Leave a little length so the nail edge stays above the surrounding skin.

3. Wear shoes with enough room for your toes. Tight or narrow toe boxes create pressure that can lead to irritation and ingrown nails.

If you notice redness, swelling, or tenderness around your nail, it’s best to have it checked early. Treatment is simple when caught on time.

Take care of your feet, they carry you through everything!

TREATMENT SPOTLIGHT: KeryFlex Nail Restoration

Damaged or unsightly toenails? KeryFlex might be the confidence boost you’ve been waiting for.

✦ Instantly can improve the appearance of damaged toenails

✦ Looks and feels completely natural
✦ Flexible, non-porous, and unaffected by polish, acetone, or detergents
✦ Safe to use during most antifungal treatments
✦ Allows your natural nail to grow out underneath

Choose from 3 shades: Natural, Nouvelle, or Opaque – for a flawless finish that bends and moves with your feet.

How it works:
① Your foot care provider will examine the nail to ensure at least 15% (nail) is present for a successful application.

② Your nail will be prepped, colour selected, and the KeryFlex applied.

③ You'll walk out with a fresh, healthy new look—ready to show off your feet!

Ask your provider if KeryFlex is right for you. (Note: Not suitable for everyone—your provider will assess your eligibility.)

Did You Know? Your feet contain over 100 muscles, tendons, and ligaments—and when they’re not properly supported, it can affect your entire body. From ankle to knee & hip pain, and even lower back discomfort, misalignment often starts from the ground up.

That’s where custom orthotics come in.

Unlike store-bought insoles, custom orthotics are designed specifically for your feet, based on a thorough gait and biomechanical assessment. They aim to provide targeted support, improve alignment, and help reduce pain not just in your feet—but throughout your WHOLE BODY!.

Whether you’re dealing with chronic discomfort, recovering from an injury, or simply on your feet all day, custom orthotics could make a big difference.

➡️ Book a gait assessment at Bloor West Foot Clinic and step into better alignment.
