It is hard to believe my dad will have been gone from this earth for 11 years.

11 years of missed moments, hockey games, graduation ceremonies , and adventures. 11 years without his guidance, protection and support.

11 years of not feeling the love a father has for his daughter. 11 years of grief and longing.

While I only had my dad for 35 short years, he taught me a lifetime of lessons and I am forever grateful.

I have realized as a parent , that we are TEACHING our children how to LIVE. Do not take this role lightly.

Here are 5 lessons I learned from my Dad that have shaped my future. And that are timeless.

1. Man plans and Gd laughs ✨

2. NO GUTS NO GLORY ✨

3. Do not walk the path everyone else is on. Go OFF the beaten track….✨

4. The only certainties in life are death and taxes ✨

5. Family is EVERYTHING. Put them above everyone else in the world. ✨

I love you Dad. I miss you deeply and I feel your spirit around me.

This can be applied to hockey, school, socialization, really any aspect of life. Every parent should tell this to their child every day. Your successes and your failures don’t define you. Worth is internal and it is fixed.

February Recap ✨

I am SO happy February is over. It is a HARD month. As I look back I am grateful for all of these moments.

Amidst the cold and darkness of February, while facing a lot of challenges, of course we still found time for lots of hockey, nature, music and joy, friendship and laughter.

GOODBYE FEBRUARY . Not sad to see you go…excited to welcome the new month of March! With Spring on the horizon. A time for renewal and rebirth. ✨🫶🙏

What a way to end 2025!!! 💥✨❤️🇨🇦🇺🇸

4 nights of phish at the BEST venue in the world. Surrounded by old and new friends. Music is my life. It has always saved my heart and soul, and this year was no different. At a time where I needed light and love, music was there as it always is…to save my soul and remind me how it feels to be alive again!

And….I met RICK from Goose. Had a full conversation with him and a big hug! Manifestation complete and dream come true! Highlight of the trip. IYKY.

No matter what is going on in your life, make sure to find time for joy, dancing, music and laughter. And always make sure to surround yourself with people who love you! ❤️ Nothing else matters.

A picture speaks a thousand words. ✨✨✨

This picture was taken in May of this year. Just 6 weeks after one of the biggest challenges of my life was handed to me.

I was at a soundbath surrounded by two friends and at the end, they could hear me lying beside them sobbing; I was experiencing so much acute emotion and I couldn’t hold it in…they came and surrounded me with love. Physically and emotionally.

I will NEVER forget that moment or these women. Or all the people who have held me up over the past 7 months.

I can’t stress it enough….life isn’t about texting. It’s about REAL life connection. It’s about holding people up. Connecting to their hearts. Giving and receiving love.

Be this friend….find these friends. I promise. Love is the true answer. Now and always.

45 and ready to THRIVE. ✨

Beyond words grateful to turn 45 surrounded by so many incredible humans.

If I have learned anything in the last 45 years….its this:

✨Surround yourself with people who love you and support you, and you will always be ok. Love will carry us through. Now and always. Grateful to my incredible and fierce community. I would not survive life without every single one of you. ✨❤️🙏

✨In a world filled with text connections and fast paced distractions, SLOW DOWN… talk to strangers, look at people in the eye, share honestly about how you are doing ; instead of just saying “fine”..

✨Invest in your friendships, these connections are your lifeline

✨Surround yourself with the energy you want to be in the world. Get rid of the rest

✨It’s never too late to start over…don’t look too long at the closer door, or else you will never be able to see and walk through the new one being opened for you

✨You can’t control anything except yourself. Make sure that relationship is strong, connected and healthy. It is the one that impacts all of your other relationships, your health and your life.

What do YOU see when you look in the mirror?

Are you proud?
Ashamed?
Maybe a mix of both?

Do you look at all the places that need improvement or do you honour your strengths?

The answers to these questions, impact your whole health. In a profound way.

Learning to love what you see in the mirror is a journey for most humans. Most of us are very self critical. Self blaming and shaming.

If I have learned anything over the last 20 years as a Naturopathic Doctor, it is that your relationship with yourself is the most important factor for your health.

When you can look at your reflection and say, “I am enough. I am proud of what I see. I am proud of who I am. I have the courage to be authentic. This narrative will start to rewire your brain, and as a result your health and whole life.

The profound journey from shame and self-criticism to worthiness and self -compassion is challenging and u comfortable. This is where we grow, and this is a transformational journey every human deserves to take.

If this seems daunting:

Start small. Smile at yourself. Say something kind. Notice a strength. Be proud of your wins. Watch how that energy changes your day — and, over time, your whole life.
