The OAO Standards of Practice reflect our association’s commitment to professional, ethical, and safe patient care.

These standards establish clear expectations for effective osteopathic practice in Ontario and uphold the integrity of our profession.

Reminder: Existing OAO members must complete the Jurisprudence Program and renew their OAO membership by December 31, 2025.

Get to know the OAO Public Relations Committee!

This committee plays a key role in maintaining the OAO’s brand, image, and visibility across Ontario. Their work keeps our members informed and promotes osteopathy through social media, events, and outreach.

The OAO Board met for its annual strategic planning session in November to refine the OAO’s path forward.

The OAO remains focused on strengthening the profession, supporting members, and advocating for recognition of osteopathy across Ontario’s healthcare landscape.

In August, the OAO submitted for regulatory status with the Ontario Ministry of Health.

Regulation means legal protection for the public-at-large and for practitioners’ titles. It also means osteopathy is recognized as its own distinct healthcare profession. This strengthens trust, recognition, and professionalism.

The OAO remains excited about its submission and discussions with the Ministry of Health.
