Something worth sharing from this week.
On April 14, Arcadia's Melissa Vigar, BSW RSW, joined Laura Bellon of Anchor Rehabilitation Support Services to deliver a brain injury training to the Toronto Police Mobile Crisis Intervention Team (MCIT) on behalf of the Brain Injury Society of Toronto.
The training introduced MCIT officers to Acquired Brain Injury: what it is, how it shows up, and why someone in crisis may not be acting the way you'd expect; not out of defiance, but because of how brain injury affects communication, memory, and behaviour under pressure.
Proud of this partnership and the important work being done across Toronto's care and justice communities.
