Ask The Expert Q & A:
Q: Hello Dr. Kuzmar,
I'm getting married at the end of August. When is the best time to get my Botox and dermal filler done? Thank you. Dorothy W.
A: Hi Dorothy,
Thanks for your Facebook message. Botox and dermal filler have different times of onset; however, they can still be done on the same day in most cases. I recommend to book an appointment for both services at least 4 weeks in advance.
Although the results of dermal filler such as Juvederm are instant, sometimes several weeks are necessary for the product to settle in and to allow time for touch ups. There's also possibility of swelling and bruising, which is rare, but you don't want to take any chances having filler done too close to your wedding day.
Botulinum toxin, on the other hand, can take up to 14 days to fully develop. Just as with filler you want to give yourself ample time in case any minor tweaks are necessary and for your Botox to fully engage.
