I just made a post on the .x page talking about my thoughts on community. 💭 Take a look and let me know what your think. ⤵️

What does community mean to you? 🤔

Community means supporting the people around you. ✔️

Community means connecting with other individuals. ✔️

Community means giving back. ✔️

Sometimes it can be hard to focus on community when life gets busy and challenges arise. When things get tough it’s usually your community that’s first to help out. 🙏

Thank you to the LabX community 🙌 and happy holidays! 🎄☃️

I wrote a piece for the LabX page on my top 3 stress management techniques.🧘 Take a look and let me know what you think. 🤔

Stress is something that can creep up on all of us. We all deal with stress differently, so finding the right stress management tool is important. Give these a try:

#1 Exercise - 30 min a day can make a huge difference.🏃🏼‍♀️

#2 Work Life Balance – Its temping to let what other people have add pressure to you. 🚗 💰 Big goals take time to achieve, so be patient with yourself.

#3 Meditation - It may not come easy to most people to sit still for 10 min a day with a clear mind. Check out our previous post on meditation and give it a try. 🧘

Not all of these may be useful for you, so don’t feel pressured to do all 3️⃣. Find the 1️⃣ that works best for you and slowly work it into a routine.

Hope this helps!

My thoughts on movement of the human body. 💭

I decided to do a little piece for the LabX page about my version of “Movement Fundamentals”.

This has been important for me to learn as I try and stay active while simultaneously sitting at a desk for longer periods of time for work. 😬🪑

What are they?🤔 They are movement patterns that produce optimal performance while reducing the risk of injury.

For example if you are going to pick up an object off the ground and your knees cave in this increases your risk of knee pain and minimizes your strength/balance.❌ If you keep your knees straight or pushed slightly outwards you will reduce your risk of knee pain and increase your strength/balance. ✅

One of my favourite fundamentals is the correlation between power output to your legs due to core stiffness. This one is important to learn for sprinters, 🏃🏼‍♀️ and anyone that weight trains. 🏋🏽

Essentially tuning your core stiffness for different stresses at different angles will increase the strength and power in your legs.🦵

The body has many optimal movement patterns so learning the fundamentals can give your body the best chance to perform at its highest level! 📈

Mental Health Tip: Meditation 🧘

When I first heard of meditation immediately I wasn’t a fan. I thought the goal was to clear your mind and sit there without a thought 💭 for hours and for me I felt like that wasn’t a great use of my time.👎 I kept hearing the amazing benefits of it, so I had to do my research. 🧐 After reading plenty of books 📚 and some help from I realized there are many different ways to meditate for different goals you want to accomplish.

For example even a short session of 5min attempting to keep thoughts 💭 to a minimum can help lower daily stress levels! The goal with this isn’t even to have a clear mind (that can take a lot of practice to achieve) but to TRY and clear you mind to the best of your ability.

A real life example of how this can help is if a stressful thought crosses your mind, instead of dwelling on it, you can control your mind and put that thought to the side until your ready to deal with it.

Hope this mental health tip helps! 👍

Is social media bad for healthcare? 🤔

Healthcare is a slow industry to evolve but social media is causing it to change. Is the change occurring for the better or worse of the healthcare system? 💭

Customer service vs customer experience (10/5 experience). Whats the difference? 🤔

Customer service is very reactive. You listen to what people want and you give it to them.

Customer experience involves a level of predicting what a person wants and providing it for them before they ask. 😃

Customer experience is something that is fun for me because it involves physical space such as decorations, scents, lighting, 💡 simplicity around booking appointments and even beverages☕️.

When customer experience is considered patients are happy and this helps create an amazing work day! 🌎

What is freedom is the workplace worth to you?

In my experience a lot! 📈

We work so hard in school that when we graduate we shouldn’t feel pressured to treat patients only one way. There are so many different ways to reach a patients goal and we all have different strengths as individuals that we should be allowed to show our strengths in the workplace.

The key word for me is autonomy (self directing freedom) ✅

One of the things that excites me the most about continuing to grow is meeting people who have a similar vision to improve healthcare. We are stronger together as a team than apart! 🙏🏽🖤
