They are available to clients 24 hours a day, seven days a week by pager. Community Midwives of Toronto is committed to providing an inclusive, safe environment for all, including equitable treatment with dignity and respect for diversity regardless of a person’s race, citizenship, place of origin, ethnic origin, colour, ancestry, age, religion, family status, marital status, s*x, s*xual orientation, gender identity/expression, immigration status, size or level of ability. In Ontario, if you see a midwife you will not see a physician unless there are concerns or complications. Most births are normal and there are no complications. If there are complications, midwives can consult or transfer care to a physician. Midwives provide safe and expert care to healthy clients and newborns. The midwives at our practice speak English, French, Spanish, and Farsi.

As of today, April 23, 2021, the government of Ontario announced all pregnant individuals will be eligible to register for vaccination appointments under the "highest risk" health conditions. We applaud this decision to protect the health of the province's pregnant population!

Pregnant individuals who reside in a region using the provincial booking system can call the central number to book. 1-888-999-6488. Pregnant individuals residing in a region not using the provincial booking system can book through their local public health unit.

The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) has released a statement in support of the use of all available COVID-19 vaccines approved in Canada in any trimester of pregnancy and during breastfeeding. Read it here:
