Upper and lower eyelid surgery with fat grafting.

For the puffiness of the lower eyelids, fat was removed though a hidden incision behind the lid. The key to a good result is the addition of a small volume of fat to the cheek region. This softens the deep crease and hollowed area which can make the undereyes look tired. A smooth transition between the eyelids and cheek conveys youth and vitality.

A remarkable woman that represents so much of what is slipping away in our society:
grace, manners, etiquette, respect, and professionalism. That is the true definition of beauty and elegance. Real beauty is timeless.

And after twelve years, today was my final day as an Active Staff Surgeon at Humber River Hospital. Going forward, I will be going to Courtesy Privileges.

I am grateful to all the patients that brought me into their lives, and hope that I may have impacted them in some small way. Reconstructing faces after skin cancers, or secondary to congenital abnormalities or trauma brought me great reward. Thank you to my mentor, Dr. Shan Baker at the University of Michigan for patiently passing along those skills. I will never be able to repay you for your tutelage.

I made so many friends along the way and have great respect for all the physicians, surgeons, nurses, patient aides, clinical staff, and administrative assistants at my home hospital.

I have such fond memories of Humber River. Beyond working in the operating room, clinics, and emergency department independently for the first time ever, I will always remember the birth of my first two children at the hospital. Some of the most memorable moments in my life.

While I will certainly miss my role, I am excited to focus all my efforts at FACE Toronto and continue to build incredible relationships with my colleagues and patients into the future. There really is nothing like being a facial plastic surgeon!

Beauty is always in the details.

A critical step for successful hair transplant is appropriate hairline design. The newly transplanted hairs do not recede or change over time, thus a conservative shape is encouraged. It must look natural over time as the patient ages over decades. We have to picture what the patient will look like ten, twenty, and thirty years from now.

The hairline itself should be planted in an irregular pattern. Natural hair does not grow in a straight line-it undulates back and forth.
