Runnymede Healthcare Centre is a rehabilitation and complex continuing care hospital. Coming soon: Canada’s first PTSI Centre of Excellence for First Responders.

For nearly 70 years, Runnymede Healthcare Centre has been leading the way in complex continuing care. We are a focused, innovative, 200-bed hospital that takes an interprofessional team approach to care, providing comprehensive clinical services to patients who require expert treatment, extended rehabilitation and daily care beyond what can be provided at home or in long-term care. We provide the
right care in the right place at the right time to make a difference in patients' lives.

Runnymede celebrated 30 years of Black History Month in Canada. This year's theme is "Honouring Black Brilliance Across Generations - From Nation Builders to Tomorrow's Visionaries".

Our Interim CFO, Winsome Lewis, delivered an exceptional speech detailing her journey of resilience, vision, and inner strength, which was followed by a grab-and-go lunch for all staff.

On November 25, 2025, Runnymede Healthcare Centre conducted a comprehensive Mock Code Red/Code Green exercise simulating a fire emergency and horizontal evacuation, with Toronto Fire Service (TFS) onsite to observe and evaluate the response. Based on feedback from TFS, the exercise was highly successful, and Runnymede passed all required performance criteria.

Today, Runnymede Healthcare Centre is proud to remember the brave men and women, both past and present, who have served and are serving in the armed forces. We honor the sacrifices that forged our peace, and we carry their memory with reverence.

It has been a great week for us at Runnymede Long-Term Care Home as we officially opened our doors to the community and celebrated the admission of our first patient to our facility.

Our Long-Term Care Home is a 200-bed facility, with the first-ever dedicated Maltese floor in North America, established to support the needs of seniors in our community.

On , we are proud to share highlights from the recent visit by Her Worship, Olivia Chow, Mayor of Toronto, to our new 200-bed Long-Term Care Home, which has the first-ever dedicated Maltese floor in the province. It was an honour to host her and showcase our commitment to being the centre of excellence for aging and wellness. We are deeply grateful for her continued partnership, leadership, and shared commitment to enhancing the quality of life of seniors in Toronto.

We’re honoured to share a remarkable donation from the Maltese-Canadian Society of Toronto presented to President and CEO, Connie Dejak and our Foundation— $312,625.25 in support of the Mary C. Galea Floor at Runnymede Long Term Care . 🇲🇹🇨🇦

This will be Canada’s first long-term care floor dedicated to the Maltese community, thoughtfully designed to reflect and celebrate Maltese culture, language, and traditions.

Located in the heart of Toronto’s Little Malta, Runnymede is proud to serve one of the largest Maltese populations in Canada. This generous contribution helps us ensure that our care not only supports residents’ health, but also honours their heritage.
