better understand the causes of IBD, learn the most effective treatment strategies, and improve care for children with IBD.

Intestinal ultrasound is a valuable, non-invasive tool in IBD care, especially in pediatric IBD, where minimizing sedation and radiation exposure is critical.
The CCIBDN Summit 2026 kicked off with a special half-day symposium on Intestinal Ulstrasound in Pediatric IBD. Participants attended a workshop with breakout discussions and a hands-on skills session to gain an understanding of standardized approaches to clinical integration, and develop research priorities. This event was held in conjunction with the CCIBDN Summit 2026, which will continue April 19 & 20.

L’échographie intestinale est un outil précieux et non invasif dans la prise en charge des MII, en particulier chez les enfants, où il est essentiel de réduire au minimum la sédation et l’exposition aux rayonnements. Le Sommet 2026 du CCIBDN a débuté par un symposium spécial d’une demi-journée consacré à l’échographie intestinale dans les MII pédiatriques. Les participants ont assisté à un atelier comprenant des discussions en petits groupes et une session pratique afin de mieux comprendre les approches standardisées en matière d’intégration clinique et de définir les priorités de recherche. Cet événement s’est tenu en marge du Sommet 2026 du CCIBDN, qui se poursuivra les 19 et 20 avril.

With proper engagement, clearly defined responsibilities, resources and supports, empowered parents play an important role in the transition care team. This review of 54 studies, was led by a group of patient and family partners affected by inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), was conducted by PROACT-IBD — a Canadian, patient-led, multi-method study focusing on the transition of adolescents and young adults with IBD from pediatric to adult care — in partnership with CIDsCaNN.

Grâce à une implication adéquate, à des responsabilités clairement définies, à des ressources et à un soutien approprié, les parents autonomisés jouent un rôle important au sein de l’équipe de transition.
