Ontario's Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, Deb Matthews just announced an increase to the minimum wage of PSWs working in home and community care by $4.00 over the next 3 years.

This new increase is another step forward in the Province's continued commitment to recognizing the valuable and vital role PSWs like yourselves play in caring for some of Ontario's most vulnerable people.

In order to apply for the Disability Tax Credit, Form 2201 – “Disability Tax Credit Certificate” must be completed by a registered medical practitioner. This form requires the date the disability started.

You may be able to claim the caregiver amount if, you (either alone or with another person) maintained a dwelling where you and one or more of your or your spouse's or common-law partner's dependents lived. Each dependent must have been 18 years of age or older and dependent on you due to an impairment in physical or mental functions. If the dependent is your or your spouse's or common-law partner's parent or grandparent, he or she had to have been born in 1948 or earlier.
